I'm just running through the 21 day trial, but the question I have tried to out-line below may influence my purchase decision.

Firstly, some back ground. I'm testing RSD as my other two web-design applications (Webplus and Xara) are not entirely responsive, generally giving just the two options, desktop and mobile webpage variants.

One of the two application I use for my main website (600+ pages). When the applications is loaded there is no slow down in the application performance due the the large number of pages.

The second application was purchase in an attempt to improve responsive web-site design and was used to develop the smaller of my two websites. Whilst this application made things easier to make mobile webpages along side the normal desktop pages, I found that 50 webpages was about the most this second application could handle before becoming so slow to load and to save my work, as to become basically too time consuming to use.

So the question is... How well does RSD handle large websites?
(any examples of large websites in RSD would be great, say over a 100 pages)

We did not want to push the limits in the 1ste release(s), in the upcoming upgrade there will be up to 75 pages per project. We expect over 100 to not be a problem in subsequent releases but right now you could split the site into different projects. We'll also be adding something that will be of great help for large sites and for sharing between sites/projects...but that's all I can say about it now

Great News Bob!! The 75 pages is something we will patiently look forward to for our project as we are getting close to the 50 page limit in RSD.

To be honest I have considered this option on several occasions, the bit that puts me off is managing the navigational links created when one website is made up of several more manageable projects, effectively spliced together at domain level...

I didn't notice the page limit problem and have a project I have put in a lot of time on and just hit the wall. Not having the time to RLM start over to import I noticed you said that you could split into 2 project.

How would you do that?

What you would do is create a new website project put all the files inside of a sub-folder after exporting. So your primary website would be in the root folder and you second/third etc websites would be in a folder under the root.

Thanks but SURPRISE - not totally clear. Would I only put the pages and not the ancillary folders - css etc (provided the css had no changes) - into the folder and adjust navigation to the the folder pages when necessary?

Your question was how to add more pages to RSD. Since there is a page limitation (currently) you have to create multiple projects to accomplish that. If you create Project A and Project B you cannot export both to the same folder location as one would overwrite the other. That is why you export them into different folders. Remember you are creating in essence two websites and simply linking one to the other.

If you want the overall styles to be the same, duplicate the first project file to a new name and then edit the website accordingly. Then when you export, that goes into a sub-folder so that whatever you do in that project does not overwrite the first.

It does require a few extra steps, but that is the best way to accomplish this with an existing RSD website. Future updates will be addressing this sort of situation.
