Moving forward would it be better to make a menu directly in RSD2 or continue using Menu Builder?
Well, I'm just getting used to RSD2 also. But I would say that there is going to be much more flexibility with the components that are built into RSD2. For example, there is a menu style that will automatically reduce in size on a small device (down to a "hamburger" button) and then expand to a full size menu when viewed on a larger device. To my knowledge, menus built in Menu Builder can not do that.
Yes, they can!

Menu builder is fully responsive and will switch to mobile view menu at the width of your choosing. I love the menu builder but I'm not sure what CC plans to do with it. It would be nice to build it into RSD, FB, or BB. Time will tell.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

If you are comfortable with Menu Builder, and it covers what you need, use that for ease and speed.
RSD is 3 things. It will open and can edit RSD 1.5 files (Coffeegrinder Framework). That would need the Menu Builder if you want convenience of using the Menu Builder without coding a simple css menu.
RSD also has two different Frameworks, Foundation Framer and Bootstrap Builder. You can insert Menu Builder exported code into sites built using these frameworks like you might any other code.
These two frameworks have their own ways of creating effective menus that use the javascript that comes with the frameworks However, the menus can be directly styled in RSD, and can share some of the special classes the frameworks use (like a class that will hide an element on small screens, or only show an element on large screens) but there will be more handcoding using RSD. You will either need to use a component from RSD or download a component someone in the community made for RSD to avoid the process of first creating a list container, lists, and stying the links. I haven't used Menu Builder much because I only got it to recently work on my PC (something o do with my PC), but I do not believe that Menu Builder can go past one submenu. You can code as many sub-menus as you want using the frameworks - and include whatever you want in the submenus - by coding whatever you want into the list element - image, video, table, card... You would go to the either the Bootstrap or Foundation websites to see what can be done and how to specifically do it because you would need to apply special attributes to elements that the javascript would require.
Hah, who said 'no coding'? You don't necessarily have to write the code, but you certainly need to know a lot about it.

Since I've been using v2 for the last few weeks I have been looking at how I can replace my websites created using Coffeegrinder with either bootstrap or foundation. One of my main concerns is a replacement menu similar to that in this website http://www.fairfieldmethodistchurch.org.uk/ which is fairly common throughout my sites.
This menu was produced using the exceptional support of Oliver Wendt in this Forum who produced two great videos showing how to do it step by step in Coffeegrinder v1.
I want to produce something very similar in my new sites and while Scott says Menu Builder would make an approximation
of it I wonder if anyone in the forum yet has the ability to produce something like this using V2. I don't have menu Builder and would welcome your thoughts. I do not possess the coding skills needed to do it.

Russel, have you got the url for those videos that Oliver Wendt created? It should be possible to recreate it in one of the other two systems. I had a look at the menu, it looks very good.

It takes about one hour to recreate the menu in RSD V2 for Bootstrap 4 and get it to work.
I assume it takes same time for FF as well. May be tweak a bit to compensate for differences in default CSS.
If you wish I can share the Bootstrap version and then you can modify it and turn into a reusable component.
