Empty Grid can't become a component ?

I just tried to make a parent Grid to a component. But when importing the component into an empty project it is loosing all identities - in Layout it is no longer a Grid and in Design it has no background colour and after changing it into a Grid in Layout and launchoing it has no Rows or columns.

Is there a work around ?

I think we need to see this. Have you got a project to show us?
Without seeing it for myself, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are doing.
Mind you, I have never tried to make a component with an empty grid, but I have, successfully, with a grid that has something in the cells.

I tried it with or without content. Here is a zipped rsd file with only a grid - when you make a component from the grid and try to import the component into an empty foundation site - it is just an empty container with the class name "grid- parent"
BTW I cannot send rsd files directly even when they are very small on this list. ...

It seems that most files have to be zipped in order to send them through here.

I have downloaded your file, created a component of the grid parent, and then I opened a new instance of SD and imported it. And added it to the canvas. I checked the 'Design for' button and saw that grid was supported, then I opened the style pane on the tool panel with the grid parent selected and changed the option 'Design for' there from 'Fallback first' to 'Display Grid', and voilà, now I have two identical projects in front of me.

This is as far as I've got. Do you want me to try popping some contents into the grid parent?

Whow Inger, you got it - My "Design For" in the styles box was on "Fallback First".
Maybe I can solve like that now some other mysteries. I never looked at that. Thanks a lot. I'll have a beer to your health...
