Drop Down Sub Menus

Hi guys

As I mentioned in my last post, I know nothing about code.
I have Site Designer and it's really enjoyable...I'm learning . In my last post I got help from Frank Cook, many thanks. I'm developing an informational site using the FURNS CO template, showing product images and product categories. In the nav bar, I have a "products" menu and trying to work out how to insert a drop down menu under "products". See attached image.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

John

Looks like the menu items are just text links. You can delete a text link where you want a dropdown, and then insert a dropdown there instead. Site Designer has a dropdown component built-in called 'Dropdown simply styled'. You can use it, and then you need to give it the same styling as the other menu items.
I see that the menu code appears twice, so maybe you need to insert the dropdown twice too. Most likely it will be one for the wide viewport and the other one for the narrow one.

I see that! :) You might perhaps change the font to look more like the one you are using for the other buttons. And also size them down a wee bit.

Still working on it, but happy I can do this. I would be lost without the help here.
Now to see if I can change the menu hovers to look the same in the hero nav and drop down.
"Home" "About" & "Contact" buttons have a line through hover, trying to do the same with the "Products" button and drop down menu.

Thanks again.

To find the 'strikethrough', mark one of the menu items, then click on 'In State' on the style pane. The state says Regular, change it to Hover. Then you find the strikethrough option on the Design tab - Decoration. Make sure the 'state' doesn't pop back to Regular until you're done.

Hi Inger,

I got the menus done...took me a while, but got there.
I'm trying to find out how to make the sub menu appear when I hover over "Products" and then just scroll down, instead of clicking on "Products".
In my main menu to make the sub menu appear I click on "Products" and to make it disappear I click again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

John

I'm just on my way to bed (02 o'clock where I am). I would perhaps think twice about just hovering, then it could cause problems on phones.
I'll be back in the morning...

BTW, there is a component in SD under Dropdowns called 'hoverable dropdown'.
