I think Brian Durfee has some experience with this, maybe also some others here. If you don't get a reply within reasonable time, find one of Brian's posts, he has some contact info in his signature.

I am a registered owner of Perch. I bought it for the simple purpose of allowing someone else in my company to edit a webpage such a text and pictures without having to load my Coffeecup Software and upload changes that way. I also can picture the use of a CMS as a selling point if one were trying to design websites for customers. Restrauants can change the menu pictures, update pricing and decriptions. A small bar or pub could update the weekend band and events. It can get more complex too.

For Perch you will need to convert your html page to php extension or setup your server to parse html php. They also recomend setting up a local server XAMPP which was also a slight learning curve but did get it all working with the mysql database.

I chose to design in SD3 the normal way. When I reached a area I want editable by the CMS I make sure I have the format, classes, and responsive design the way I like it. I then export the project, open up the page and copy that area to a text editor like Sublime, Atom, etc. I make the markup changes Perch requires to make the information editable. I the go back to SD3 and make a html element right below the area I copied. Since the information in the html element has the same classes as the section above it, I can hide the html element, and continue to make a design changes on the first section.....which will effect the html also below.

When I publish I hide the regular section, and show the html element. Open up Perch control and pick the region you want edited, make the change, and reload page and everything is good. Now I can still open the project and make style or responsive changes, but keep the Perch marked up code too.
Bootstrap 5 CSS Grid.

I have used https://www.surrealcms.com It is $10 per month for up to 5 different urls...so easy to pass on the cost to a client.
It is inexpensive and easy to use...you can even brand it for yourself with no mention of surreal anywhere.
Just a suggestion. I am not affiliated in any way.
