Hi. I want to add a video to my site. Looking for help I found this topic but it did not give the solution. So ...on the CONTENT tab there is 'HTML5 Video' element. I dragged it on the page and I selected the video type as MP4 and the source from my pc... id did not show the video but I could hear the audio of the video. Then I uploaded the video on my youtube channel and put the link there at the source...still not working. I was testing this just with PREVIEW option ...and not actually uploading the site on the server. Any suggestions? Any tutorial that I missed about adding video in Site Designer 3?

If it is a local video, add it to your 'resources'. Then use the HTML 5 element. In the 'Element' pane add your source that you have in your resources, and select the type. Click away those other sample videos.

If it is a YouTube video, then the easiest is to use the embedding code that YouTube provides. Add a Html element to your page, and paste the embedding code into it in the provided space in the Element pane.

There is also an option in SD3 called 'Video platform'. I have never been able to make that work, so clearly I can't recommend it ;).

Thank you. I tried that. It seams that ...it's there but when I play it in chrome to preview it , I get only the sound. Could it be some video settings? It is an MP4 made with some video editor. I can make it again...transform it but in what ? It's about the browser or what settings should the output video have?

When I try to open that video, I get the error message that it is not available. Maybe you could post it here, or send it to me (you have my email address from earlier) instead.

Anyway...I managed to make it work with video platform and link from youtube video. I think is ok for now, although I did not want to link this youtube channel to the site. Thank you for your time. and ...A happy , healthy New Year to all!

http://horgenhonning.net/test/ (with Video platform, that I got working after all)
http://horgenhonning.net/test2/ (with YouTube embedding)

You can probably change the size in both cases, just keep the proportions. And it does not seem to be possible, at least not for me who is not the owner of the video, to play it locally. It has to be uploaded to work.

I didn't see your last post until I had posted myself. You may try to add your local video as a 'html 5 video', and then upload, to see if it works.
