My store is online... https://www.habitatforbats.org/estore
(not trying to promote, just easiest to tell you where it's at so you can look.

I have several buggy/?? issues starting with...

When I use Google Checkout there is an option to "Edit Order" which should take me back to my shopping cart. When I click on it, the return link tries to go to http://www.habitatforbats.org:443/estore/cart.php that generates an error 400 bad request.

It should return to https:// etc... etc...
If I correct the http to https and hit enter it works.
What have I missed?

Next
In Google Checkout there is a API callback URL entry... it is currently set to my previous store proxy https://services.mercantec... etc...
We used them as a sort of gateway.
What should I enter there for the CC store?

Nervous about all this... Thanks...

That issue is caused by running your shop over https instead of http. You must run your shop via http://www.habitatforbats.org/estore and the edit order will work fine. I will have to discuss this with our programmers but I don't think this is a bug, more of a refer issue with Google and I am not sure if we can do anything about that. There also is no need to run your shop over a secure sever as no personal information is collected.

As to the proxy question, we do not support that at this time.

I've had people call to place an order because my store "was not secure". I've also received a few emails about it. With the default settings on the browsers and now the coloration (green/yellow/red) I plan to stick with the SSL even if I don't need it.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/produc … urity.mspx

My previous site started going yellow on some of the browsers for some reason even though I did not have a certificate. The warning was something like... this appears to be an ecommerce site that is not encrypted. Any personal information may be at risk etc... I was never able to clear it until I installed an SSL certificate.

With the https I get white every time.

It shouldn't matter if your shopping cart pages are on a secure server, as you're not processing the credit cards directly, and PayPal/GooglePay/etc...

I would think that if you simply posted a notice that explains this it should suffice.

I may be thinking on overly simplified terms, and since I don't have a cart myself (yet) I may be proven wrong :/

I don't want any excuses for folks to spook and vault. I look at the number of people who load a shopping cart, go to checkout and then leave. Something spooked them. I've got to get all that analytics code in my new store but thats what I watch.

Seems minor... but it helps. Just like having a phone number and address somewhere on your site. I use a .jpg with the information because I find the bots can't spam me as easy. It means they can't cut and paste but it's there. I'm going to incorporate that into the store Contact Us... but one thing at a time.

This has been discussed before. As publishers of the store we know that a secure site is not needed. But the average consumer visiting our site is told time and time again to only shop on secure sites. No matter what we tell them when they visit our shop, we will not be able to convince them it's not needed, and most would think we are just trying to serve our own interests anyway. It's not expensive or hard to achieve so why fight it. we need to make it a simple decision to buy from us, and having the site secured will be the first thing a lot of potential customers will look for.

I see the Google Checkout clicking Edit Order now works after the most recent update to SC 3.5

I must assume that fixed it...

If so... THANKS!!!

If not... it must have been the rubber chicken and voodo that did it.

If you ran the check for updates within the software it would have shown you the changes to that version. That was one of the fixes we made. Not bad getting a fix to a request in only 2 days huh? :)

ahh... I'll start doing it that way. Q... if I update using the software... will it still show me the "New" icon in my online account list? i.e. I may download it twice?

When I update with the software, does it also grab the google checkout module if an update is available?

If only everything in my life was solved in 2 days. THANKS!
