Integration with wordpress?

What I would like to do is set up a blog, preferably Wordpress as there are lots of tools available, on the same domain as the shop and to provide access to it via the menu on the shop home page. The aim being to permit a shopper to click "Blog" on the menu and have the blog load in a new tab.

I know I could put the blog in a subdomain but then Google would treat it separately for SEO and it's real purpose is to help rank the main site. I can live with this but proper integration would be nice.

Will the presence of a blog conflict with the CCSC?

Hiya Alan,

I'm not sure if I'm totally understanding what it is you're asking about, but I guess I'll just say that although you can use a blog (anyone can) it's not integrateable within the actual shopping cart unless you use the blog page as your home page of the site. The program will allow you to set an external home page which you can then set to any page you like. But, there is no way to add a Blog link to your Shop menu that will take you to your blog site. You can make a landing page of sorts with a link to your blog on the page (making a Blog internal page in SCC and then creating the link to your blog on the page), but cannot link to external pages other than the Home page.

Not sure if that answered your question or not, so let me and others know :)

As for conflict, I have external pages on my site all over, and I have so far not gotten any conflict with the blog hurting my home page, or my shop. My blog resides in a subdomain on the server as does my shop and my home page is an external page (as are many of my pages that aren't default created in the SCC program).

Hope that helps :)

Could you add a link in a text menu in the footer?
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

If I can just say that it depends what blog you are using. I don't know much about how Wordpress works, but I do know that blogger.com allows you to make quite a few changes with page code etc. which means you could make the look and feel of shop and blog almost identical.
