We are also working on a new program, Shopping Cart Styler, an equally intuitive application that will allow you to modify your shop with such options as applying custom color schemes, styling text, and customizing backgrounds. No coding required, of course! Drop us a note if you're interested in joining the beta program.

Scott, I'd love to help you beta test the Styler. I couldn't find a PM button or email address for you, so I just thought I'd reply here.

I really think if you can fix the ability to integrate the cart with existing sites (and fix the tax issue addressed in another thread), you have a winner here.

With the declining economic status, more and more small business will move online and a quick simple cart (rather than hours of editing php files) will sell well. If both these fixes were in, I could start offering my customers reasonably priced ecommerce websites.

Additionally, once the bugs are worked out, I know of large community of people offering online services to offline businesses that would love to buy this product.

Cheers,

Pasha

I have nothing online to show yet, but I think I am getting around the integration by getting myself a third level domain just for the shop content.
The main site I have will include several profiles for several people wanting to sell very diverse products - a kind of portal if you like - so the third level domain idea seems feasible so that each seller can have their own shop area for their specific service.
I have already saved an offline test shop to check out what files have been generated, and have seen that it would be fairly easy to make some changes in the css in Coffeecup HTML Editor to give an overall "feel" that fits in harmoniosly with the main site. That is easy enough just through appropriate colour scheming.
Certainly the Styler sounds great as my plan is to get a copy of the cart program every time I build a site for an e-commerce client so that they can do their own updating of new products etc with their own copy of the program. The more intuitive the cart and styler are, the easier it will be for me to hand over the reins to the customer.
Count me in for beta testing if needs be.

OK, so I bought the pro version, which supposedly came with 3 style packs. I had to download each and every style included in them one by one. I have no idea how to get them to show up in the program, as they are simply zipped style files.

These need instructions on how to implement, or better yet a button to import them.

Meanwhile, I tried copying the unzipped files into C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup ShoppingCart\styles and they still don't show up even after restarting the program.

Please assist.

What are you trying to acheive by doing this ?

I just installed all my purchased style

Unzip each styles and save in a folder, then copy from that folder the style folder and the style .xml file and paste them into your Programs/CoffeeCup Software/CoffeeCup ShoppingCart/styles folder - then restart shoppingCart and they should show up in styles

Wayne,

I may not have communicated this well, but I did exactly that. Yet, no new styles appeared. Thanks for the help. I'll try rebooting the machine and see if that fixes it.

Please disregard. I got these to work. For some reason when I copied them over to the folder, all the files were preceded by a ._ I went back through the process and it works fine now. Thanks.

I am also a bit frustrated with the sometimes arbitrary limits of the existing cart software, and the need to exit out to do so many simple tasks in an external editor.
clickable images, notes, multiple tax rates, content image changes, inventory levels 9waht possible use is a cart hat doesn't keep track of what's there? zooming off to bill the client with no stock is NOT a way to get repeat business!), etc. etc. etc. it wasn't a lot of money to spend, but frankly, so far, it isn't usable for me at all.

please sign me up for the beta test of the styler program!! I can only hope it will allow me to do what I really need to do email is: walter2@sphere.bc.ca

all the best,
walter
