Image Size Restriction?

Hi Folks!

Ive been toying with SCC and the designer, and noted a image sizing of 214 X 214 pixels. (thumbs, product detail, etc)

This is great if your images for use are at least square, but if they arent (in my case), theres always a white area created on either side or top/bottom of my image. This again would be fine if I had some way of designating the color used on this padding.

Unless Ive missed something, otherwise a suggestion for being able to designate the padding color?

Anyone else develop a work around for this maybe?

Thanks!

Hello Earl,

In Shopping Cart Designer Pro, you have the ability to change the background color of the product to transparent, solid color or a background image.

Hey Monica, thanks for the reply!

I have 3 images on a test shop (pardon the mess there)

http://historicorigin.com/shop/

As you can see, the center one is fine- I changed my imported image to a square size so SCC wouldnt show the white void areas as seen in the first and third example.

I tried finding the settings you described, and there doesnt seem to be one for the image box itself.

Suggestions?

Hello Earl,

Are you using Shopping Cart Designer Pro? You keep mentioning SCC (Shopping Cart Creator), but that is not the software you need to be in to change the background padding color.

Yes, I'm using the designer pro (trial). I looked in both for an option to alter the transparency.

The plot thickens :) Thanks for looking Monica...

You're not going to be able to create transparency surrounding the image with .jpg files. As far as I know, only .gif and .png file formats support transparency. SCC automatically generates various sizes of the image(s) you add to each product. I believe you'll have to edit and crop your product images so they are square in order to eliminate the white space.

Hi,
I have posted suggestion for designer to be able to have option to mix and match backgrounds / colour in different product categories.
I like the background feature very much, but a bit restrictive as all products have to go with the same theme.

Cheers,
Baz.
