Hi all,
How do I re-direct a customer back to a page on my website after PayPal checkout? When I used the old PayPal buttons there used to be a returning page option. Is it not possible to state in SCC where the customer goes after checking out with PayPal. When a customer pays I need them to be sent back to a forms page on my website where they fill in details relating to their purchase.

Hiya John,
That's something you setup in PayPal, there are settings there for all kinds of things. Log in and see if this link will then take you to the right place. If not then do a search on PayPal for the word autoreturn and it should give you some results that land at the top to take you there. you'll need to make sure your account is setup correctly to use it, but that's just turning it on I believe. Good idea on the return to a form setup, lets just hope that they will know to use the link back to do that

Hi Jo Ann
Until buying SCC last week I had always used the PayPal generated buttons. When creating the button there is an option to insert the URL of a returning page. I think the return link has to be coded into the button. Because if you set it in your PayPal account settings and you have multiple websites then customers would be sent to the site set in your preferences although they might have bought from a different site altogether. PayPal help is a little vague on this subject. But I'll take your advice and try trawling through all their "help gumph" again, lol.
Thanks ~ John

You have more than one shop using the same paypal account? If so maybe try using different bank cards and open different accounts for them? Just a thought there which would easily fix that issue. I don't recall seeing anything in SCC for the autoreturn only in PayPal which makes sense. Don't know if there's any other option on that, sorry.

Hi Jo Ann, i tried the above and set the auto return to a page on my site http://www.beercoastermania.com/webshop/Purchase.php
After payment was made the buyer still returns to the cart page http://www.beercoastermania.com/webshop/cart.php
Have you gotten the above to work?

If you have enabled auto return in PayPal and supplied the url, and it's not working, the cart may be overriding that configuration. So returning to a specific page may not be a possibility.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
think you are correct, one of the comments on the paypal site speaks to this.
"In this case, the Return URL that is associated with the button or link will override what was specified in the profile settings"
Might be a nice feature to add in the new version

im trying to find some tip Scott gave us not long ago for the return site,it was a file or something i cannot remember but it gave you the possibility to choose a return URL
You can change this URL in PayPal, but by doing so you will create a few problems in SCC.
1. The cart items will not be emptied after the order.
2. With SCC Pro, inventory management and transaction logging will not work.
If you are OK with that, you can change this URL here at https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/websc … e-payments
