I'm using Abyss Web Server, and install their preconfigured PHP5 install to the tee, but for some reason it's not working.
it gives me some odd error at the desired page.
Anyone know of a simple to control web server that can handle PHP, or better yet, know how to get abyss working?
I can't do anything with the software right now because of this.

Try using wampserver, i use this for several sites, and it is so easy to set up and install it is unreal.

okay, I setup abyss on port 8080 and everything tested works except for https which isn't a problem, and I know why, but take a look at this:

but when you go here: http://99.244.68.239:8080
the page fails to load...
The test passes, so why isn't it working???

PHP is only one portion of the server requirements. Since you are building your own Webserver, you may have to do other things:

But the test passes now.
I have PHP, and the php_curl.dll enabled in PHP...
I've read that url already and everything required is running / working.
the test also passes so I don't know what the problem is...

this is what I get...
http://99.244.68.239:8080/ccdata/php/servertest.php
that's the test URL.

Looks like some sort of IIS error. I really don't know anything about how IIS is configured.

I GOT IT WORKING!!!
I'm writing a tech document right now on using Abyss with the software.
I was mislead by the programs "how to"
as it doesn't work with the software.
Thanx.
