Since I have upgraded to 3.7, I have to shut down my CA firewall to be able to upload my shop. However I have no issue connecting to my server with CC Direct FTP. Is it possible CA firewall has an issue with some change to 3.7. I have re-downloaded and installed the latest version of SCC this evening.

Scott had stated that nothing in the FTP portion of SCC changed during the upgrade from 3.6 to 3.7. That being said, I'd have a hard time believing that this would be the cause. But am open to being wrong and having someone come along and correct me

Living the dream, stocking the cream

CA firewall is more like CA Virus if you ask me
Have you tried shutting down that program to see if you can connect then?

I second that statement, in my opinion the only reason it's provided free by many ISP's is because it ain't worth paying for any other way lol. It's probably the worst protection out there to be honest.
If you try what Scott says, to see if you can get it working without CA running (good luck on trying to turn that stupid system off too lol, a real pain in the arse), and if it does work fine without CA running, then you should contact CA and tell them you're having this problem, so they can address the issue. Since it's something that just started, my guess is maybe they updated their software or virus database and have some false positives going on in it. Only way to get that type of problem corrected is to make sure they know there's a problem. Always keeping in mind the basic saying that goes with most anything:
They can't fix it if they don't know it's broke

*goes running in circles at the mention of virus scanners and software not working and has nightmares as she reflects on her problems with it all about a month or so ago herself*
Scott, I mentioned in the earlier post, I now have to shut down the CA firewall to be able to upload from SCC but the CC DIRECT FTP program still works fine. I did not have any problems with 3.6. Also I am using Vista and have had some microsoft updates take place recently also.
What would you sugest in place of CA, I have been using theCA suite of protection tools for quite a few years. I have heard others make the same type of comment as you about CA.
By the way SCD....excellent tool !!

There are lots of protection programs out there that are much better than CA, but I guess I would have to know if you are paying for CA or if it's a free one you're looking for. I'm sure between the lot of us we can find you names/links to a lot of them, free and paid, and should have a bit of fun debating the qualities
In the meantime I would suggest you keep Windows Firewall on as well as CA.

A good firewall is essential on your system. Without one, hackers can compromise your system, steal your data and maliciously alter your files. Contrary to popular belief, you don't even have to download anything, as some of this destructive code can be put onto your computer system just by browsing a corrupt website.
The firewall that comes with Windows is all but useless against many of these threats. There are lots of independent reviews of firewalls on the net, check them out. Comodo and Zone Alarm are two of the better known ones.

Yep I would agree with Will on all accounts, and although Windows Firewall is pretty useless, it is still a little extra safety while she's running CA yet. I've actually had Windows Firewall catch a few things that others haven't if you can believe that! LOL
But for the most part it shouldn't ever be used as the only Firewall protection you use. And Zone Alarm has always been a good program too, I am unfamiliar with Comodo I guess I'll have to go look at that one too and see what it's like.
I'm using PCTools Spyware Doctor with Virus Protection & Firewall which so far has done better than most of the other ones I've tried, and omg I've tried soooo many. In the end something always will slip past them and make you have to manually clean it up at times, but the better your security is... the less you will have to do those manual cleanups lol.

I know there will be people that disagree with me on this, but I personally have never installed a firewall, anti-virus or security program on my system. They always cause more problems then they are worth. I only use FireFox for my surfing and gmail for e-mail. The majority of all users who have uploading problems always has something to do with one of those security programs installed. Then people will get so upset at us when in fact it is the security program actually causing the problem.
My 3 cents anyways...

Now who would get upset with you for software not installing correctly, not being able to rename it's own installation files, and not being able to finish the install at all when it's the Security Software's Fault!!??
