I created a single custom theme in SDD basic to use with SCC basic. I've upgraded to SCC pro. Must I purchase the upgrade to SDD pro to continue to use my custom theme? I believe you guys should give the capability to use 1 existing custom theme with SCC pro. I do not have the need to modify the theme now.

Running on a shostring budget here.

Yes, you will need Shopping Cart Designer Pro if you want to use any custom themes with Shopping cart Creator Pro. The reason is the SCD Basic cannot customize elements found in the pro version (search, breadcrumbs, sub-categories etc.).

I don't want to customize any of those items. I just want to keep my shop looking the same without spending money for something I don't need. Is there no way you guys could allow for this without the additional cost?

To put it in perspective, I can buy one of your custom themes for 9 bucks, but can't keep one that I made with a full software purchas of SCD basic? I would be willing to pay the price of a theme purchase but don't want to by SCD pro at this time.

Can you offer this as a service?

If you want to use a theme that was created in the Shopping Cart Designer Basic version, you need to use Shopping Cart Designer Pro to update it for use in the pro version. There is no work around.

The themes we sell for $9 comes with the basic and pro version of it. We don't offer a service to update your theme.

Paul,
You could probably email your file to someone with the Pro version and have them upgrade it for you and email it back to you.

Sounds like a good plan, Steven. Do you have pro as I have the same issue and could do with some help too? :D

Linda,
I don't have a problem doing it for you. I just want to make sure CC does not have a problem with me doing it. Any problems Scott?

That would be between the two of you. )

I can say if you ever do have issues and fill out a support ticket, we will know that you are using a custom theme and do not own Designer Pro. That may tie our hands a bit if you ever have any problems with a theme.
