I'm in the middle of setting up a shop using SCC Pro, When I select the shipping option of weight, and I have filled in the table for all the postcodes (zip codes for our friends in the US), along with all the prices for each weight category.
And on each product under the optional charges I add in a handling charge.
After I have uploaded to test the site online. And pretend to purchase an item, selecting the appropriate area, It never adds in the handling charge it only calculates the postage based on the weights. Even when I add in the default costs for handling under the shipping tab, It still will not add in the handling...
What am I doing wrong? It calculates the weight and also the postage based on that weight, but will never adds in the handling charge.
Any ideas of what I am doing wrong ?
Shipping and Handling prices
Did you ever get an answer to this? I have the same problem.
Me too

Hi guys I did ask Scott about it, however the advice was that it wont work this way. It seems to be a one or the other type thing.
What I ended up doing, was to setup a table in excel, where we calculated the weights including the packaging for the product weight and then told it to add a fixed amount on for handling to the postal cost. It was then calculated for every weight and postal area.
We then manually entered all the prices for all the weights to every postal area in to SCC pro. From memory that was around 350 prices.
This works for us only due to the fact that we know what size each box will be for every item when wrapped. In Australia as other places in the world, depending on size and weight of the article, sometimes you may be charge based on pure weight and others by cubic weight.
So we calculated both figures which is easy in excel, and obviously which ever is the higher figure we used. Just remember you need to include all your costs in your postal charge and include the right weight (whether its pure weight of the item or the cubic weight) figure in the product area. Check with your carrier, to find out how they calculate parcel weight.
