Hello again :D

Ive added afew pictures to my site now. When someone klick my picture, it zooms up pritty good and its easy to just "save picture as".

Is there a way for me to restrict mouse right klick on the pictures only? Or make the zoom not that big?

It's been said a thousand times that disabling right click will do no good. If I want it and it's on my screen, it's mine. And before you say it will stop the folks who are not PC savvy, let me say that is only old folks who didn't grow up with computers as a kid. :P

Tom... I consider myself an old folk who didn't grow up with computer, but I'm pretty sure I could find a few tricks tucked up my sleeve to take the pictures!!!
;)
Basically Rmk82 (any easier name to use???) if you don't want them taken you don't post them. Generally speaking, images online are often of a poor resolution anyway which is not great for printing...but otherwise, the risk is always there.

Sorry to not answer your question about the program , but the best way to protect an image meant for printing is with a watermark, but those can be removed in photoshop if one tries hard enough.

I dont have anything really important to protect, just hoped there was some kind of protection without having to edit every picture. ah well. Ok, thanks for answer :D

Rmk82...only teasing. Just that for an old head like mine I find it easier to remember names! But back to your question...as you can see, there is no easy answer to that I'm afraid. The question has been raised many times and the same kind of answers always emerge...and as Zac points out...they are not really useful answers since the downloading or use of images is quite a common practice. Students (of all ages) are theoretically "allowed" to use images without asking, and many IT web design profs will encourage it, so we tend to be fighting a losing battle on this one.

Not to worrie Janys, my english humor sounds alot more fun in my head then when it comes out in text

I always thought the designers had some kind of robots searching the web and sue everyone that downloades their pictures without asking. Good to know :P

My full name would probably confuse you more then Rmk82, but my First name is Ronny! ;)

Anyways, thanks for the answer. Im gettin older myselfe and the answers i get from my questions, i need with a spoon sometimes :)

Ronny...(like it!) from what I was taught at my photography course, it would cost far more in legal palava to get some kind of satisfaction than my photos are actually worth! So I, for one, live with the idea of losing some pics...should be honoured that anyone likes them enough to steal I guess! What you could try is tineye...check it out
http://www.tineye.com/
For instance...right clicking on my avatar the application tells me that the same image is being used in 4 different contexts (all of which were placed by myself...)

I think your "best" two options are probably:

1 - ensure that all pics you use online are at a 'screen optimised' res. 72dpi (faster loading too ;) )

&

3 - (yes I know, it's a joke ;) ) use watermarks!!!

2 - know full good and well that as was mentioned ANY pic that you put out on the web (be it on your site, Facebook, MySpace (does anyone even go there anymore?), are up for grabs. There is NO 100% way of protecting any of them.
