Item title limitations for categories...
Is there any way to increase the char limit for product titles? It is a little hard to crunch an item where the specs for the product are the title - in my instance light bulbs.
The average title is something like: "F16T4-CW/18.8 - 16 Watt - T4 Linear Fluorescent Tube - 4100K - PLT CW188"
The limits of SCCP make me truncate it to something like "SATCO S2919 32W T8 MED. BIPIN 5000K Linear Tube".
www.lightbulbsandfixtures.com
I also have no idea how to change the title of my homepage, which was originally the shop home page that I added html to, to something other than "Home". I know how to change the name of the page in SCCP, but I want the actual title that google sees to be something more along the lines of "lightbulbsandfixtures.com , light bulbs, CFL, LED, Halogen, Fixtures" so that I am incorporating key words into the titles of my pages.

I might be corrected by someone else, but i seem to remember those are the maximum number of characters that Paypal will accept
Re home page title, have you considered creating you home page with VSD or html editor, and linking the home option to that instead
You will be able to set the title to anything you like, & match it to your keywords, and main page heading
Then chage shop home, to something like information, with all your SCC pages listed as a dropdown below (option built into SCC)
my handmade-by-me website in signature is done exactly as above.

I have never used VSD or HTML editor, but from what it looks like, in your handmade website the Home page, about me, date bracelet, and products in detail pages are all pages that were created outside of SCCP.
I think I understand the general principal behind everything, but it will take some playing around and research to build those external pages. How do the breadcrumbs and links work outside the cart? It looks like you have linked the external pages back to the shopping cart, and from the shopping cart to the external pages, but I was wondering what you did differently between your top ten website and the handmade website to stay in the same window (and I am assuming session) when transferring from the shopping cart pages inside the cart and the external pages that you added to your site.
I have been trying to do this on the side from my normal 10+ hr / day job and there is definitely more involved than I had originally thought so thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

In vsd you have 4 different options as to how pages open up, ie on the same tab, or a new tab / new window, so going back to shopping cart can be achieved different ways, its useful if fore instance
you want your customer to have one tab open on a VSD page, and a separate tab with the products that relate to that page.
I am in the middle of a new website, using all i have learn over the last couple of years
On the new website the shopping cart made with scc pro has NO description pages so it only has three categories as such HOME, CATEGORIES, INFORMATION (shop home) which just says please go to home for details of services products etc.
The vsd section now has all the about me, contact me, faq so on and so forth
It will have three separate shopping carts linked from it
So when customer clicks on signet rings, it goes to scc 1 with just signet rings
another tab says wedding rings goes to scc 2 with just wedding rings
another tab for masonic jewellery goes to scc 3,
But all are utilising the same about me, contact me, faq etc pages.
Google likes this as obviously scc1 is actually websitename.co.uk/signetrings
I have a suspicion this could work for you, shopname.com/ledlights
