I just set up my PayPal Standards account and got an email from PayPal stating that they suggest setting this up in PayPal. If not this, how do you get an email letting you know that a purchase has been made on your site?

If, Instant Payment Notification, they are asking for a Notification URL. Not sure what or where that is?

There is no need to setup IPN. That is used for something completely different. You will still get an e-mail when any order is placed on your shop. Also, if you enable transaction logging, you can view order information there as well.

Where is this transaction logging setting so that you can turn it on?

Have you not used the software yet? :)

Click the "Your Shop" toolbar icon and then click the "Inventory" tab.

Enjoy! :)

We were talking about PayPal IPN and then you throw in SCCP TL, and then you insult me when I get confused. :)

Wait until your an old fart, see how quickly you get confused. ;)

Something else with PayPal..........

I did a trial sale and when it goes to the PayPal log in or "use a credit card" page, it shows my personal email at the top of the box instead of my Shop name, how can I change that?

Is there a setting in PayPal for that? I have never seen my e-mail address appear like that on any shop we have.

Same here, that is why I ask. I will call PayPal and see what they say.

OK, here is the answer in case someone else gets this problem.

The person that first helped me to setup my PayPal account (PayPal tech support) said that I only needed the Premier Account, not the Business Account. NOT TRUE. Make sure you set up a business account. That way you fill in all the necessary info that puts your business name on top of the afore mentioned page and what URL to return to.

Hope this helps.

I did a trial sale on my site and it won't let you do it because you have to use your PayPal account to pay yourself---won't work. You have to use a charge card to test your site. But it worked fine and returned me to my site with the click of a few buttons. And I got an email telling me of the sale. Guess I better get busy and get the package off to myself before myself gets mad!!!

Non business sellers will by default display their main email address (so change to a more business like email address)

Business accounts have option to display virtually anything !
