Does anyone have a solution as to how we can set up a custom value option input box. Our customers need to be able to enter individual names and numbers for the products we sell.

The only input I see that a customer can do is to check a box in their choice for color, size, etc. that you have setup in options. There is not way for customer direct input in SCCP.

The only way I see to do it is to have them put it in the "Comments" box in the PayPal check out, if you use PayPal. Or to send you a separate email or on your contact page, if you have one.

Although you cannot directly connect a form, that is what many of us use to gather any custom order data from customers. You could include in your products form(s) that are setup to include comment boxes in whatever type you need. Make sure to then just put a comment on the page near the form to let them know that this submission will not be part of their order, but will be sent separately in some way so they are aware that it's got to be sent from that page or whatever. You can also include something in an email to them when you thank them for their order that would include a link to a form for them to fill out "if" they need any customization to their products.

That's about the only way at this time that you can do it is with a separate entity. Hopefully this will be something in a future build for us though :)

This is how another CoffeeCup consultant replied to my own [similar] query:

I would be more than happy to help you with any questions that you may have about our software. There are no internal options to have the user interact with the cart as you would like, but what you can do is create a form, then simply embed that to the cart where wanted ( either within the item description or on a separate page ), and finally upload the files to the server.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to add a Flash element created with one of our Flash programs (Web Form Builder, Web Calendar, Web Video Player, etc.) to a product description or custom page in Shopping Cart Creator:

Save and upload the files in your Flash project to your server root folder using the program's built-in upload function.
Copy the code for your Flash element to your Windows clipboard.
Switch over to Shopping Cart Creator and paste the code in the product description or custom page where you want the element to appear.
Upload your shop.

Note : Because the files associated with your Flash element are stored on your server, you won't be able to see the element in action until after you upload it.

Kind regards,

TL

When you do it this way instead of using the HTML tool, make sure you put the brackets, [[[ in front of the pasted code and the brackets, ]]] at the end of the pasted code. Otherwise, it won't work.

Are those brackets, braces, or punctuation marks? :)
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Anyway, I tried the above solution today on my website, and it worked like a dream No problems whatsoever. I used CoffeeCup Formbuilder to add customer interaction fields to my product/checkout pages.
Just one thing: if your store is in a subfolder of a website, upload the Formbuilder files to the same subfolder your store is in -- not to the root folder of the server.
