importing csv file

It took quite sometime for me to figure out how to get even some of my data in. Mainly because there is no references or examples in the help file. If I search for csv nothing comes up. After I did get some of my fields in (over 500 items) they all were set to not publish , this is a huge pain in the a$$.
would be nice if I could select all and change this or if there is a global setting in a configuration file giving me the option to have this as a default or not.
Thanks

That is because all the information is right there on the Import from CSV dialog box. All you needed to do was click the '?' to get the information. ;)

Almost all of the dialogs in the software have a '?' to get more detailed information.

Thanks, I am aware of the help pop ups, I was looking for the same in your help pdf to expand a bit more only because my field naming convention matched i.e. "shipping" still caused errors. I just need some more detailed information or a xls example file so I could see the cell properties.
I also don't see anything addressing the Publish or not publish issue I'm having. There is no apparent check box in the Grid settings panel.
Thanks again for you input

Attached is an example .CSV file for you to look at.

You can also generate a blank .CSV file by going to the File Menu > Export to .csv
