Help with weight based shipping please

I am finding the shipping very complicated to set up.

My primary problem is that the shipping charges simply do not show up.

I have defined a weight for each product, and set up the tables in weight based shipping for the prices based on weight.

When I test shop for a product, no shipping charges are added at checkout.

I must be missing a step, but have spent several hours trying to figure this out. Help!

Royson,
Have you set each and every product to use your shipping setup?

While in SCCP if you click on each product and then look on the right side of your screen you will see the Properties box for that product. Toward the bottom of that screen you will see "Optional Charges" and a check box that says "apply default". Check that box. You will need to do this for every product you have that you want to apply your weight system to.

In your "Your Shop" settings under the shipping tab, make sure you have set your "Shipping Preferences" to "Weight".

***Mods, you might want to move this post out of this thread since it is not a suggestion but rather a request for a solution.

Ah ha! Breakthrough. I am migrating from the non pro version. When I create an entirely new store using Pro the weight shipping function works. I had hoped that I would not have to set up all my products, categories, pages and html links from scratch, but since that fixes the shipping I will. Now that I have it working, I am feeling relieved. I did indeed have the "Shipping Preferences" set to "Weight" previously. I can see no differences between my legacy file preferences and the newly created store, but obviously something in the background did not convert well. In any case, I can fix it now.

One thing you can try also is to go to the grid and highlight the entire column in the grid that stands for the shipping settings and change them all at the same time there. Takes a bit of fuddling to get it worked out but once you have it it's pretty easy and slick to make quick changes to bulk products that way too :)

I am having this same problem (moving from the regular Cart program to the Pro version). I have verified that the default weight unit to lbs in Your Shop. Each product has the pounds set in the More Options tab, and the check mark is in the Apply Default box under Optional Charges.

All of the weight ranges and prices are set under the Shipping tab for each state in the US.

My "increments" are irregular, though. Does that make a difference? For example, I'm trying to set ranges/prices such as these:

1-4 lbs, $11
5-7 lbs, $14
8-14 lbs, $22
15-25 lbs $30
26-40 lbs, $60
40-50 lbs, $80

Is there a way to do this without recreating the cart from scratch?

Thanks,

Toni
