When I export a store with over 1000 items, it appears that the category field is not being generated.
However, if I generate in the same way a store that has under 15 items, it generates all fields and can be imported into a new store.
Is there a limitation on items that can be exported?
The fact that the system works with one file and not with another seems a little curious!

I just tried to replicate that here Steve and it worked for me. I didn't have 1000 product (250) and the category and sub-category names were in the file.

Are you using 3.9 Build 4215?

Hmm, how come I can get it to work for one store and not another?
Opening the saved files in excel definitely shows everything in the file that works but, the one that doesn't has critical fields missing.

The faulty file is attached.

Do the ones that works have a dash in the short description?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

No, do you think that might be causing the issues?
Surely that wouldn't affect the generation of categories!

I would try removing the dash. Most programs aren't able to except all characters.:)

Doesn't seem to make a difference!
The message I get is in the screenshot attached.

You cannot export the default product. It has no text or price.

The screenshot shows the message after I have tried to import the file into the cart. This was after I exported a cart with a single item with no '-' in the part no.
The message on the screenshot is the same message I get when trying to import the 1000+ csv file.
