GOOD MORNING!

I'm almost done with my shop WHEW

1. the total is being calculated wrong in the view cart, it'S adding 2 X the total. I chose let the buyer choose, but even if I put 1 it's doubling the amount?

2. how do I get rid of the shop homepage, it seems redundant, I only want to go to the product page which I named "the bags"

muchas gracias.

Hiya Nadine,

I'm not sure on the price doubling, do you have a link to the shop so we can take a look at it and see what's going on?

as for the Shop Home page, you can't "get rid" of it persay, but you can rename it to something else and put something else on it, maybe Contact Info or your Terms & Conditions or something useful. Do you have an external website for this shop also? If so then you can use the link to your The Bags page in your Shop link on your website. If not then, the Shop Home is usually the home page of the shop. You can link externally to a Home page in your shopping cart also by going into the Shop Tools settings and changing the Home page to an external link and then when you click Home on the menu of the shop it will take you to that website home page instead of the shop home page.

Hope that helps some and let us know on the link to the shop so we can see what's going on with the amount doubling. Sounds like you have a default of 2 set somewhere or something, but we'd have to take a look to be sure of that.

ok thanks Jo Ann,

here's the shop, for the bags I put at discount its doubling the price, and it's not adding tax for Calif.

oh sure, it was dumb mistake, I had selected optional fields for the different color bags, and then I put the price in each one, so it was calculating the set price plus the price I put in the options...........so now knowing it does that I can also use that for something else down the line.

but..........it still isn't calculating tax for Calf. I have run a few test runs and no tax! So any suggestions?

what movie did you see? :D

hmm not sure on the tax stuff, it's been a long time since I filled any of that in so hopefully someone will be around that can help with that part. If no one does I'll take a look at it and see.

Optional fields are awesome for giving different variations of a product. The biggest drawback to them is they do not calculate into the Inventory right now. The main product is the only one that has an inventory amount, so if you sell anything in the Optional Fields (say they get a Large instead of a Small product which is a difference in price) then it just decrements it from the main product. Best to put them into their own product instead of using those fields for them.

Those Optional Fields are great though for products that don't have any inventory issues. Maybe things like customized Embroidery or something where you charge extra to add things to a product that don't have any inventory needs.

The way it calculates is whatever price you put into the Optional Fields is "added" to the main product price so you basically just put the difference in price in the Optional Field items. So if something is $10.00 for the main product, and to make it a Large item would be $13.00, then you would put $3.00 into that Large item's price. Hope that helps some for when you decide to use them.

:)

P.S. What is your tax in Cali? What is the number you have in the tax for Cali?

Yeah really cool info thanks so much. I put 0.0875% for CA. We have a ridiculous district system here so i do an average for the entire state.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
