Okay, I am sure some of this has been covered but maybe someone could just shed some light on a few questions?

Okay, I am taking advantage of the 3 month S-Drive Shopkeeper on CC. I was successfully able to align my domain www.emsgiftshop.com to the S-drive, and it is directing it properly to the shop I uploaded, which has nothing on it but one product no picture, just as a test, so I am happy that worked, I need to see if I can get a friend of mine to test the purchase part, as when I tried to do it, paypal says I can't purchase on paypal from my own cart. So I am assuming that the communication between the cart and paypal was successful but I will have my wife buy something for a quarter, and see what happens.

Okay questions:

1. When a customer presses the checkout link on my website and it takes them to paypal to log in to pay, I know it will be secure with paypal since they have the security certificate but is there anything on my side that says I have to have a security certificate? or would it just be a piece of mind? if I purchase one from godaddy.com where my domain name is registered and is being forwarded to the S-drive Shopkeeper account, how do I attach that to the shop?

2. Speaking of the shop, right now the domain emsgiftshop.com is directly pointing to the shop. What is the easiest way to design HTML elements in the SCCP to describe the shop on the shop home page?

3. Adding images, when I double click, it looks like it wants me to tell it where a picture is on my computer, 2 questions on this one, if I tell it the location where the picture is, will it automatically upload to the shop without me creating a separate folder for all the pictures? So say if take pictures and name the folders based on the date, if I select a picture from said date will it automatically go, or do I need to create one photo file? Secondly is it possible to (this is what I do not see) if the photo is hosted on Photobucket? How if possible to you enter the direct link to tell it which photo it is?

4. Say if I am selling a baseball card, and I have (much like a tshirt) different versions of the same card, say a parallel in gold numbered to 50, then one in silver numbered to 100, how do I create a list (if possible) of the different versions of the same card apply that gold/silver tag and the price that it would be for say the harder to get version gold being the most expensive.?

5. On shipping if say I have a lot of cards I am selling at it costs $5.95 to ship USA for this product only, but it would cost $14.50 to ship internationally for this product only and I manually enter the shipping and handling cost in the description box for the USA shipping, how would I tell someone with a selection to pay 14.50 for the same product overseas, where a single card might only cost $4.00 that I could put in the default shipping selections under the shipping tag? (hope that made sense)

This is a work in progress obviously, but I am trying to learn as I go along! Thanks for making the S-drive account so easy Coffee Cup, you may have me switch at least my shop over permanently when done with my 3 months!

There is no need for a security certificate, but if you feel inclined to show something, PayPal has some certified images on their site that you can place on your shop to show you are using PayPal and most people know PayPal is a certified payment processor.



You would do this in your SCCP program, go to the shop home page and put whatever you want on it. Use the HTML Tool to insert any HTML that you need.


I am not sure you can even use images that are hosted outside of your shop. The best way would be to download the images from their location and host them yourself. That is actually a much better and safer way to do it since you don't have control over Photobucket's website and if they ever go down, so do all the images you would have linked to so that is not a good way to do a shop.

As for the structure, just add your images as the program asks you to. The program will organize them and rename them as it needs, you don't have to do anything with them at all other than tell it which images you want to use. They don't have to be put into any folders at all, the program will do all that for you.


You can set this up using Optional Fields, which you'll find around the middle of the properties area of your product details setup page. You can add up to 5 different optional fields and each of those fields can have as many options as you need. One caution though, Optional fields are not inventoriable (is that a word? hehe). What that means is all of them are one product so whatever your main product is, that inventory is what is counted. The program cannot separate Optional Field items so it's all one inventory item.

When you set up an Optional Field you can also give different prices for the items. When you do this just put the price difference in the optional field price. That price will then be added to the original product price.


Not sure what you mean here, but then Shipping setups are not my strong point

Okay, I take that back I do have a question about shipping because I don't know how I could make this happen.

When I first posted my shipping question, when I used the word lot (I meant to capitalize it and say LOT (set) of cards)

Okay scenario. I plan to ship a couple different ways.

First Class Mail US (for 10 baseball cards or less) $2.50
First Class International (for 10 baseball cards or less ($4.00)
Flat Rate Priority US (for Lots of cards 20 or more) (what ever going rate is)
Flat Rate International Priority (for card Lots 20 or more) $15.00


Now when I have an item description, and it is a (LOT) of cards, other than in the mail description is there any way to only have the 2 flat rate choices as options? Is there a way to set up the above easily? Also I plan to use the Priority US/International to send diecast vehicles (how do I increase the amount of the shipping based on how many they buy?) I want to use the basic structure above for all items I sell, but how do i individualize each item I selling to collect the right shipping?

One other question for now. I have told paypal to send people back to my website when complete www.emsgiftshop.com I understand if I could probably and should make a thank you for your order page, by adding my own page right? Now, if I do that, do I have to change where paypal redirects? now currently on the S-drive it is amedicsworld.coffeecup.shop? right? so if I make a thank you page, where do I redirect it to? the emsgiftshop.com/thankyou or amedicsworld.coffeecup.com/thank you this is sort of confusing me...

Okay, I tested a purchase out. My wife bought a product, the only product I had listed for $1, she got a bargain! Okay, the transaction went through, she went to paypal, paid, went through, it auto returned to my website with the message that it went through, showed a transaction number, and offered a link to return back to my website. Now why is the same item showing back up on the page to buy again, how do I get it to know that its not available anymore, or show that wonderful sold out logo, that I see in the designer? I appreciate everyone's help...just trying to get the basics down before I move on, and do it in large scale...

Although I can't answer your shipping question, sorry I just don't know enough about it as of yet, but I'm learning... again lol, (been quite a while since I used the programs so bare with me), I think the inventory problem may be that you don't have it turned on? Check your settings and make sure it's all setup correctly and is indeed activated. There may be some things you need to do to get it working correctly. I'm currently setting one up right now so it will be a bit before I know exactly what to tell you so I'm going from memory from over a year ago unfortunately. But I do remember that it had to be turned on to be used. Look around and see if maybe that's the problem there.

Found the inventory setting, wow, this is all new to me, and I thought I was somewhat knowledgeable...but still need help with the shipping question. Thanks for your help!!

Okay, I have my domain name hosted successfully going to the S-drive shop emsgiftshop.com and that is what pops up under that name when you type it in, however, when my wife returns from paypal (she is my trusty tester right now) , it is returning her to this URL http://amedicsworld.coffeecup.com/checkoutpps.php?tx=76671387BA221353X&st=Completed&amt=1.00&cc=USD&cm=IY4OH2SO&item_number= is there anyway to have that come back to a page that is showing www.emsgiftshop.com? I know it is being hosted by S-drive, but is there anyway that the masking can follow all the way through the process?
