1 item, 4 sizes/options, different...

Something I have been thinking about recently that has me stumped.

Ok, let's say I am selling t-shirt. On the product page, I want to put that one t-shirt, but have the options set for S, M, L, and XL. That way, I can have 1 product page, but all 4 options, instead of having a different product page for each size.

Now, for inventory purposes, I don't want to have the S, M, L, XL all have the same SKU, they should each have their own sku. So, how, if possible, can this be accomplished? If it can't be done, how do you who run into a size situation like this work with inventory and things like that?

Thanks

You have to create a product for each different size. They can all be on the same page but they don't have to be. You could also have a main category be the t-shirt then sub category be the sizes.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thats what I do now. Main category vendor, and subcategory is t-shirt, then each product has their own page, so for this example, 4 pages, 1 S, 1 M, 1L and 1 for XL each having their own discretion and such. I just thought using the options function, there might be a way to cut back the pages from 4 to 1 but still be able to keep inventory.

Guess not, but thats why I asked..

Hiya Mike,

Unfortunately, at this time the SCC Pro program is unable to distinquish between different options as having their own inventory so it lumps them all into one total inventory number. We're hoping a future update will give us more features in the inventory situation to fix this problem. Not sure if it's planned in the updates or not though.

Thank you all for the assistance on this. I pretty much assumed what all the responses said, but I just wanted to make sure and didn't miss anything.

Thanks again

Jo Ann,

It's been almost 2 years since you posted the above and updates have not resolved the problem. Do you know of any real effort/intention to address this?

Thanks in advance,

I don't work for CC so no I can't answer that question. You did put it in the Suggestions so it's there for them to know that it's requested and it's been requested before so I'm sure they are aware that people want it. That's about all I can tell you as that's about all I know too.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
