Search box; Breadcrumbs

Are search boxes and breadcrumbs available in the Choppes shopping cart theme?

I am working in Designer Pro customizing things (I created a new theme based on Choppes) and in the manual it shows how to modify the search box attributes and the breadcrumbs attributes but I don't see the Properties page for either of them. I have looked through every single Properties page in the Background tab and I haven't seen it for either one.

Do they actually not exist for this theme, or perhaps I am missing something? Thx, - Paul

Yes, both options are available in all themes created by SCD Pro.

Scott, is there some reason why I cannot see the configuration options for them in SCD Pro?

Have you upgraded the theme to a pro version through the File Menu? Once you do that, those options are pretty obvious in the software.

Scott, I just double-checked and the Help>Check for Updates says I am using the most recent version (3.8 3863). I am attaching the list of available properties that I see. Thx, - Paul

That is because you are still using a "BASIC THEME" in the Pro version. You must upgrade that theme first. Once you do, the options will appear.

I am completely ignorant about Pro Themes. When I searched the catalog of themes and purchased the Choppes theme, there was no designation anywhere that it was a mere Basic theme, or that there are Pro themes somewhere else, or that I could upgrade to a pro theme. They all are $9.00 and I bought a few of them and thought that I was ready to go.

If you could help me with this, where on https://www.coffeecup.com/store/themes/shopping-cart/?page=2 or elsewhere on CoffeeCup.com does it inform me of these options? Or, if this isn't an extra fee issue, how do I complete this upgrade that you are talking about? As you can see from the attachment to this latest post, when I select from the Choose a Theme drop-down, all it shows me is Basic Themes.

Your help with getting me to where I think I need to go would be much appreciated. I am certainly beginning to feel like quite a dope here. Thanks Scott, - Paul

What you have to do is go to the File Menu and then select "Upgrade theme to Shopping Cart Creator Pro". This will then enable all of the options that you currently do not see. Every theme you purchase from us comes with a basic and a pro version of the theme. This way you can edit the theme in Shopping Cart Designer Basic or Pro.

I see. Thank you, Scott. I completed the upgrade and I see the configuration sheets for search and breadcrumbs now. I can see the breadcrumbs div but I cannot see the Search tool. Is that expected behaviour? (See attached.) I would have expected to see it where I have placed the red rectangle.

Also, FYI, I searched for upgrade in the manual and there is no mention of it there. And I'm not sure where it is mentioned in the website. I might recommend that this Basic/Pro tiering be communicated a little more clearly both on the website and in the manual. Then again, it may be clear to everyone else. I was never a threat to get an A in anything in school.

Thanks again for all your help tonight Scott. - Paul

You have to enable the search box as well under the Advanced tab. These instructions were on that image that appeared right after you upgraded the theme from a basic to a pro version.

As to the upgrading, the software itself walks you through all these steps in the beginning. You may have just skipped this step when starting out.
