I looked for something on this subject but can't seem to find anything. Just for the record I have both Pro vesions of the shopping cart programs (as well as the ceator basic) so I can use either to work with.
I would like to be able to make the product thumbnail backgrounds transparent ot at least change it to a matching color. I have found where to adjust the thumbnail size but no way to set the color. Hopefully there is a way to do this. Since the products vary in shape I cannot use one universal size.
The test store is at: http://www.rookenterprizes.com/scott/shop/
Please go to the products page and you'll see why I need to do this.
Thanks,
Hazy

Hazy,
First, you say you have both Pro versions of the shopping cart programs, I assume you are saying that you have the Pro version of the Shopping Cart DESIGNER? Right? Because this is the only way you can make these changes.

If so, when you open up your Theme in designer, click on the picture in the products and this opens up a properties box on the right associated with those product picutres. Click on the background Tab and then you should see there where you can put a check mark in the box for "Transparent".

As a sugesstion, I would make the size of your "Products" much larger also. Since you are selling art, you want the customer to see what you are selling, not to have to use a magnifying glass to see them. Set it so that you only have 2 or 3 products per line, not 4

In Shopping Cart Designer Pro you have the ability to set the dimensions of the images on your shop. What you would then do is add your photos in Shopping Cart Creator only using those dimensions. All images are re-sampled if they do not match that size and transparent images are not supported at this time.

Are you sure about that Scott?
My site is loaded with transparent images.

He didn't say they would not work. He said they are not supported. :)
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Forgive my ignorance, but what support does a transparent image require that a regular image does not?

These images are all JPG's and you cannot set transparency in a JPG. You can only do that with GIF or PNG. These just have a white background.

That is impossible Scott. I am perfectly well aware that a jpg cannot be transparent. I sat for an entire day and took all of my photos and put them through Photoshop Elelments and made transparent gifs out of them. 95% of my product pictures are transparent gifs, I just checked. If what you found are jpg's, then your software translated them to such, I did not put them in there that way.

I just redid EVERY photo on my site (with the exception of a couple) again to transparent gifs, saved and published to the web. I watched the publishing dialog boxes as they populated on my screen and there were no gifs, they were all changed to jpegs. It's the software that changes them, not us.

The only photos I did not change are the ones within HTML code on the Home page. I just know changed the first one on the Home page to a transparent gif, the picture of the tool chest. It shows up fine on my end as a transparent gif on my website.

Scott, does it come up for you as a gif or a jpg?

Edit: If I do a right click on the website photo and ask to "Saves as image" it shows as a gif.
