Re-Directing Domains

Hi there,

I am trying to re direct my domains topoint at Coffee Cup.

The domains are registered with Fasthosts and I am not sure how to do this for Coffeecup.

When I go into the control panel and click on the domain I want to direct to Coffee Cup, this is called update name servers, it asks for two unique name servers (ie ns4.vpweb.com) from the new host.

Can you help

Many thanks

Col

Sorry no one's been able to answer your question Colin,
I'm new to Coffee Cup, so I cant answer your question either, but I have used three domain registrars in the past, and they all ask for two names servers, just like yours did.
I have also used two different hosting companies, and they both gave two name servers to be used to configure your domains.
For example, a real web hosting service would tell you to enter (ns1.cc.com & ns2.cc.com).
It's been a long time since I've changed anything so I could be wrong about this, but it seems that "S-Drive" is not a real web hosting service, it is a CoffeeCup.com sub-domain that you can redirect to for free.

I'll never complain about something that comes for free. It seems like a great tool to use as a back-up server, or to test drive a new website, but I cant see any use for the paid services. There are real web-hosting services available in the same price range.

I found this page because of your use of the word "re-directing". CC uses the term "Alias". Neither term is how you would describe the way a REAL website operates. My concern is over browser warnings to my web visitors that alert them to a redirect, and a possible scam. That's not the kind of first impression you want to send out.

Again, I am new here, so I may be wrong.
If so, I hope someone at CC will check in here to correct me.

I'm assuming Colin found his answer through a 'support ticket' since he didn't get one here. Just to let you know. This is not Coffeecup support. Everyone here is a user just like you. Some Coffeecup employees, such as Scott, will browse through upon occasion and answer questions. Questions concerning register information however need to be handled through the support option as that is more secure and you can get better and faster answers.

Just saying, if you need answers or advice on how things works, this is the place. If you really need an answer to a technical problem or error with a program, or anything that you might consider needs to be secure, the best option is to open a support topic. You can get there by clicking on your name on the top right and scrolling down to 'Your Support Room'.

Thanks for checking in Gunsmoke.

Maybe so.
Forums work best when people return to the threads they create to share the solution they found with others. Even if that solution is to open a support ticket. You take some, you give some.

Thanks for the guidance.
I may have been unclear about it, but my post was attempting provide exactly that.
It was not just for Colin, but for others who might have similar questions about S-Drive.
