Remember any changes you make take place between to two break points that the slider is currently positioned between.
This can be confusing if you not checking whether your setting a change on an ID or a class.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric,

I'm using the layout maker set at 1188 px. I haven't changed that at all when trying to get this page set up. I really don't know what I did to make that one row move to the left like it did.

What's the best way to get rows and columns the width you want them? Is it making the content smaller or working with margins and padding or both?

I have as much time as I want to build this site. I probably should take a few days and get away from the computer but after starting with RLMP I just want to get the index page where it should be and then I should be able to get most of the other pages (12 more) put together.

I can't wait to get to the responsive menu for this site. :-)

I'll keep at it for a couple more hours this afternoon and then call it quits for today.

Thanks for your help,

Ernie

It appears that you have no break points setup. Your just letting everything get squeezed, which is fine as long as the site appears as you want. Responsive site building is very tricky even with an application such as RLM. RLM does make it way easier to keep track of and to make tweaks.

Eric,

I didn't think I needed to set up any breakpoints until I have the page built at full size and then work it down to phone size with breakpoints a little at a time.

I was only confirming.;) Break points are areas the you need your page to change it's layout in order to fit the current viewing window. It's best if the site looks good throughout the entire transition so that any new screen sizes that are developed in the future will be accommodating.

Eric,

I think I figured out where some of the problem was. I wasn't setting my row width when I added my rows.

Go take a look and let me know how I have done so far. The only thing right now that will change is the text in between the two small pictures and the two small pictures.

Now I'm on to the footer and then the menu. I really will have my hands full on a menu that has thirteen entries but I'm going to try and make some of it a drop down. Just not this evening.

I really appreciate your help and guidance with what I'm learning with the layout maker.

Thank you,

Ernie

The best thing to do is to look at some of the toots that other users have shared and read the help file.

I have another question about adding VisualLightBox to my layout. I have a commercial license and want to use this on the site I'm working on right now.

What's the best element to add to put VLB into? I know Steve Kolish uses it and just don't want to use an element that I have to change and rework later.

Thanks,

Ernie

You can use what ever one you want. It just seems to make sense to use an image because that's what your working with.:)
