I asked for help on this:

I have two problems getting started. Firstly I can not link to my email account. I have tried all apparent combinations. I use POP3 "mail.perthmobility.com" and SMTP "smtp.secure-mail.com.au" Ports 25 or 487 with SMTP SSL. I have double checked the password which is working OK with Outlook 2013.

and the only suggestion I got from Scott was "have you tried Gmail or Yahoo".

No I have not and do not intend to. Can anyone offer a better idea to get this working please?

Thanks,
Mac

We asked you to test with another platform to see if this is a global issue or something isolated to just that mail service. This helps us narrow down where problems might be at.

I have same problem here. I did try use Gmail (only as a test as I do not want to use Gmail in my business correspondence). When I tried to connect, Gmail sent me a glaring warning saying that there is an attempt to connect from an insecure app. If I continue to do that, it will block my account. They did say I can lower the security requirement and that will expose me to all sorts of threats. Answers, Scott?

I have used that lower setting for years and never had any security issues.

However if you feel you do not want to do that, you can configure another SMTP server for testing or just export your email and use your own sending service.
