As I'm now RED user since some days and already bought RED Business, I'm somehow like disappointed today, as already the email ot of the hands of the coffecup, what is telling me, my trial is running out, is not showing up correct. I viewed it in Apple Mail and it was missing the coffecup logo file at the left top. Ok, can happen. But at my iPhone in IOS Mail it is breaking the design exactly at the point, where are presented some abilitys of Email Designer. (see screenshot)

As I yesterday got several bad results from an inbox test of a major provider for emails created with Coffecup Mail Designer I'm very sad as I was activated to buy this product believing messages like this from the Coffecup website.

Truth! Even emails that are not responsive are hard to code and display intact in all email clients, many of which have various peculiarities (yea, looking at you Outlook). This is also one of the reasons other email builders are so limited, more design freedom can cause the email to 'break' in some clients.

I did some things before with another email designer for mac, but this app was constantly crashing and giving me less responsive possibilities, but the inbox tests where fine.
I fear I will be forced now to checkout the integrated Designer of Getresponse, what is not bad at all, but hopefully more stabile. Anyway I don't need very fancy things for my clients newsletters.

Is there anybody else having problems with bad displayed mails from coffecup in some email clients?

No screenshot was attached.

However, to answer your question Harald, you should not be having any issues like you are describing. We use it ourselves for all emails and have not run into any of the problems you are describing. I can almost guarantee any issues that you may perceive as a problem can be easily addressed. RED is by far one of the most configurable responsive email designers out there.

This leads me to ask you a few questions:

- How are you sending the email? Example- I am opening Outlook, pasting the code, sending the email to myself.

- What makes you believe the email does not look correct or responsive? Can you provide some screenshots so we can see what you see?

- Please also list what specific email clients you are having issues with (and versions). It could be you are testing with an individual email client that no one has used since the '90's, so without a detailed list, makes it hard for us to offer some insight.

- Can you attach the .RED file after you have completed all the questions above?

Thanks

Sorry, I forgot the screenshot of your mail from today.

I did two inbox tests one is provided from Direct Mail for Mac, what brought me such terrible results for my newsletter made with coffecup that I could'nt believe it. So I started to find another inbox test tool, what is provided from Getresponse, its showed me different results, but also some bad results. I'm still testing and at the moment I try to rebuilt the same newsletter in Equinux, what is constantly crashing and in Getresponse itself, what is having some limitations at all. Hope to show you some more screenshots of my comparison soon.

Here at first the screenshot of the bad displayed part of your own mail from today.

You didn't answer a single question of mine Harald nor did you provide the project file. You are asking us for help, so help us help you. ;)

I would have to say though it sounds like the email sending services you are using are not up to par and cannot send fully responsive emails. It appears they are stripping out the inline styles which will cause all sorts of issues. You might want to make sure they have a way to paste in the markup in a "code editor" and not some "visual editor". Contact their support team if you are unable to locate a way to do it.

Ones that we recommend are MailChimp, Mandrill, and Constant Contact. All three work beautifully with RED.

I would also suggest you get an account over at Litmus, so you can run your test emails there and see how they look first. This way you don't have to go through any exporting process. Just send a test email to your Litmus account and view the results. I will bet you will find they appear exactly as they do in RED.

Seems you'r not amused :( , but as I wrote, I'm struggling here with some things and still preparing the files for you.
Thanks for your tip with Litmus, I will try it.

Concerning this, I used the code editor of Getresponse, I will have a look, if they're stripping out some code:

And as I announced, here you will find some screenshots of bad results from an inbox test with Getresponse (not sure, if they're using outdated inbox tests). Also I placed my workfile and the exported html there.

Btw. after another export from RED my account for s-drive stopped working and was asking me for an upgrade, while your mail from today was telling me something different, like that:

This is just a friendly reminder that your free trial of RED as part of the Mailer plan ends in 2 days. Please let our billing people know if you need to make changes or cancel before the trial ends. Otherwise everything will remain functional and your credit card will be charged $9 for your first month.

Maybe another thing what I misunderstood?

I just ran your email through Litmus, and I do not see any issues. It looks great in all versions of Outlook, Apple Mail, and even iOS devices. You can view the test here at https://litmus.com/pub/e71bd9b

To me, that shows the sending services you are using is making modifications to the markup. You will need to look into their systems to find a way for it to not change the markup. They may not even have that option, so if that is the case, look into the other 3 I suggested as an alternative.

As to the Mailer plan, looking at your other support ticket, you had us cancel your Mailer account. This means you cannot link any images under the Resources area. Each image needs to be linked to an online URL. Seems the emails and support tickets are just not in sync. ;)

Hi Scott, thanks for that.

Don't want to bother you, but if you have a deeper look at your litmus screenshots, you will see failures e. g. with text positioning in columns in the articles and the first blue line, which is thicker, suppose, as it is not a horizontal ruler in this case, I can change this blue line to hr, but don't know howo to handle the other failures.

Please have a look at

Outlook 2010, 2013, Thunderbird and Gmail App.

I also tested it meanwhile in Mailchimp, what is having a Litmus test and got the same results, while I had some additional clients with failures, which where not in your list.

You will found my litmus screenshots in a new folder under the same link from before, here again.

Failures are in Outlook 2007, Outlook.com, Office 365

Concerning the support ticket and s-drive, I wonder when I asked you to cancel the account, I will check this again and respond separately.

Forgot to mention, Outlook.com and Office 365 are having bigger issues at all.

I have to take a break now, as it is already 2 am here in Germany.

Hope you will have a solution. Thanks so far.

The issues you are having now are caused by your images being larger than the size they are inside of RED. For example, key-visual-2.jpg has the dimensions of 1400x600. You need to resize that image to the dimensions that you want it to be viewed at in RED.

As to the HR, only the top one is not displaying correctly. If you put it inside of a Container like you did for the other 2, it will display correctly.

I would also recommend you break up your sections into multiple columns. Put the image in the left column and your paragraph text in the right one.

Outlook.com and Office 365 you might want to switch to a Fixed layout vs. a Fluid one. There is always a little bit of give and take when it comes to the vast variations of Outlook. Don't focus on each one but instead, concentrate on the ones most likely used by your visitors. You will never have "perfection" but you will find a right balance. Just takes practice to get there.

With these tweaks, you can see Outlook 365 displays nicely now:
