I find that HTML Editor has major problems with Windows 7 64 bit. After looking at the page on Internet Explorer several times the HTML Editor Stops Responding. It Freezes and you loose everything that was not saved. HTML Editor must be closed and reopened. The problem has continued even after trying to make adjustments. Please CoffeeCup if you can fix that problems so HTML Editor works great again like in the past.
Hiya Michael,
We really need to find a way for people to find this information easier, so many people do not understand that Windows 7 and Vista have this security issue that the XP and older didn't have. In the meantime please try the following:
Go to your shortcut for your program you are trying to run.
Right click on the shortcut and choose properties.
Choose the Compatibility tab and at the bottom of that tab put a check in the Run as Administrator box.
That should fix it, let us know if not

I wouldn't exactly call it a security issue. You shouldn't have to run any program as an administrator. Now, that would be a security issue.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

YEP, and thanks to Bill's Minions that's exactly what many of us have to do on a variety of programs that we shouldn't have to, including (some) but not limited to CC's programs.

I can do that Viv, and I'll make it a sticky so it's at the top. I was trying to figure out a way to make a global post for it but I don't see a way to do that so I guess we'll have to do it in all the main software forums that people have asked about it in.

Many people never have that problem, Phil. Many people also use Windows and never acquire a virus, either. I guess it's just bad luck, or something.

The funny thing is, you are creating more stickies to clutter the top of every forum that very few will bother to read, and you will still get asked the same question over and over again.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Yeah that's probably true Tom, but... there are the select handful that do actually search for solutions and I'm hoping that it will show up at least for some of them
@Viv... um.... no thanks LOL
