I have just downloaded the free update to coffeecup and when i start a new site by theme, it is too big for my laptop monitor...confused. I saw it on an other laptop with a larger screen and it streches out of all proportion what is the answer????

It could be that you have chosen a theme which is "elastic" and stretches to fit the screen size.
