a real pain...

Or is there a way around this?

Global search and replace with the look in folder option... PG 67 of the manual should fix you right up :)

yep I use that global feature quite a bit now. Just used it yesterday to replace all my << and >> in a bunch of pages I was about to edit manually. Love how I can tell it to find and replace within all the pages I have opened at the time, awesome feature as well as the other ways you can find and replace outside of the program or just in a file, it's pretty slick for sure!

Also, just a hint that I didn't do one day lol. I was trying to replace all the and symbols & that I had typed into my page with the correct code for the symbol & and forgot to include the spaces on the left and right side of the symbol (space)&(space) hopefully you get the idea. Anyways, since I had hard coded some spaces in the page also, it changed them too because I didn't tell it anything to look for except the & symbol! LOL.

Sooooo the moral of the story is, include as much relevant and a bit of unrelevant selection as you can in your Find box so it doesn't get confused with partial words and replace things you don't want replaced.
Especially when you're editing things outside of the pages you have open like a whole folder etc.

I've done that too Jo Ann :) but also you don't need to have the pages you modify open, you can specify a folder and file extension and have all the files ending in HTML searched and replaced without you needing to open them. great if you have hundreds of files you need to change over.
