Superimpose images

Am using the html 2008 editor. I have 2 images, one a static gif and the other an animated gif. I want to display the animation (image of flickering flames) over the static one (our logo). How do I accomplish this? How do I ensure exact positioning?

The pics need to be displayed in column 2 of a 3x10 table.

Thanks

Well, make the table cell dimensions the same as those of the .gifs, place the static one as cell background and the animation as a nomal pic in the same cell?

Or write a CSS where the positions of the static and the animated pics are the same, just on different layers?

There may be other possibilities too.

You need some animation software - I use JASC Animation Shop 3 - and give the flickering image a transparent background on all frames.

Remember how many frames the flickering image uses then make the same amount of the static image by copying and pasting them as new images.

Once that's done then merge each frame together until finished and then save with a new .gif filename.

Preview it to see how it looks. It may be a large filesize so will need reducing.

BTW please change your username to something other than your email address. It just encourages spammers.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
