I have to admit to being one of those who rarely uses any kind of help buttons...which is why I like to have a really intuitive interface in front of me. And if it is intuitive, clean and simple, the initial information I need immediately should be there for me to find...and that goes for people who are not in the least computer savvy too of course.
Which is why (IMHO) to build a web site the interests of the prospective user and potential audience should take priority over the interests of the one building the site.
But even if all the right criteria have been applied to a site, that still won't stop the odd soul getting totally lost!
