Strange startup blackness

I guess I should post this in case it's relevant. I didn't for a while because I was thinking it was an issue with the Windows 7, but I'm not so sure now. This has been this way since the last update and I've ignored it, my bad, sorry.

When I start up HTML Editor (most recent version to date), it always has this black outlining in the corner area of the window as shown below. It doesn't usually have that top left corner blocked out, that's black too, but I couldn't get a screen shot to show it all for some reason lol. Anyways, this was an issue with SCC Pro with one of the beta releases or one of the pre-releases which you have since corrected after I brought that up, so I'm hoping, just maybe, this may have something to do with a few things happening on my computer (Scott is already aware of so I won't get into all those details too lol).

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like every time I turn the program on. Fresh reboot, later on, doesn't matter when, and it's consistent as I can close the program, restart it right away and it's the same thing always.

Those black bars are a problem with your video card drivers or display resolution. You may want to check to see if you have the last version of your video card drivers installed.

ahh thanks, not sure where I'll do that as I don't think my card has any drivers for windows 7 (not sure if it's yet or ever lol). I had to let it install whatever it had on the windows setup. When I went to the site for my graphics card there were no drivers available. It's not a very old card so that surprised me, so I'm hoping it's a "yet" instead of a "never" lol.

Sooo, do you think that could be part of my other issues then with the slowness and the way it seems like it has mem leaks?

Here's my card info in case you know of any place I can get drivers for it (or if anyone else does also):

Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 (says the driver is up to date in the Device Manager etc.)

Here's info on the rest of the machine for the main things I guess:

Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit installed

Well ask and you shall receive? lol. I think (think being the key word here) that I just got the driver. They just put up a new one today! hahahaha guess I need to post more often to get things :P

I'll let ya know if that fixed it or not, or even if the driver worked or not for that matter lol.

Ok I have updated my graphics drivers and according to the Device driver they are working fine, they are up to date according to the version numbers etc. But that black is still there. I've noticed there are some things that are running a little better so something must have updated. Any other ideas?

Maybe try adjusting your resolution or DPI settings.

well I tried changing the resolution which is default (recommended setting) at 1680 x 1050 and I changed it to 1400 x 900 and not only did it look crappy (blurry) but it didn't fix the issue.

Changed the dpi setting from 100% to 125% and that didn't do any good either.

Changed both settings back to their defaults then ... any other ideas? lol

Something to do with the RAM on your graphics card?

And does it stay like this, with the black fields, or does it go away after a while?

*smacks Scott really really hard* LOL NO!!!!! And if I do it's going back to XP lol :P

@Inger, not sure, I have 1 gig of video ram on my card as well as 3 gigs of ram on the computer so I would "hope" not but who knows lol. As for it going away, yes, as soon as the program loads up it goes away, just it's there consistently at every startup of the program and I'm very sure it shouldn't be, and I've seen it show up on a few other programs also so I'm thinking the video stuff may be the right track, just no clue where to go next since the driver is now updated which I was hoping would fix it :/
