Hello,

I know I have asked before, but I dont think there was a definite answer.
Concerning CoffeeCup HTML Editor.

When CoffeeCup loads, the view is in 'Details' mode, is there a way I can specify that CoffeeCup
always loads in 'List view'.

I think Jo Anne has said her CoffeeCup HTML Editor always defaults to 'List' view, but doesnt know
why.

I wondered if it was possible to set the defaults.... Within CoffeeCup HTML Editor.

If not, is there an 'ini' file somewhere I could edit...

I only ask, as I use CoffeeCup HTML Editor a lot, and I have to select the list view manually every time..

The reason...

Many of my files are named with a common string thats terminated with its individual identifier,
ie someones name, the string is quite long and disappears beyond the files 'view' boundary
when in 'details' mode.

Selecting 'list' mode to display the files, captures the whole string, so I can see it all and find them
far more easily...

Sorry if this seems a daft question

Thanks

Peter

I think that when you set up your preferences - Tools > Preferences > Folders, all it takes to get everything in a list view is to just select a working folder higher up your local directory hierarchy. I am assuming that you are talking about the list of folders etc. in the left-hand column right?

Hello
I have been there and there are no settings that control how the 'listing' of files on the left side of the screen, 'under' the directory structure display, are set.

If you 'right click' a filename in the list of available files, the bottom option is how to display the directory contents....

I like to use 'List' view, and would like it to be my default setting when CoffeeCup loads....

At the moment 'all' files in whatever directory i happen to be working, are displayed
in 'details' view.

The two views are completely different and I much prefer the 'List' view.

Is it possible to set the 'List' view as default....

Thanks
Peter

There are no such options in the software at this time.

I'm not sure why you're getting any other view than list since that's all I can still get to work at all even. None of the view settings change anything at all for me... didn't before either. I'd love to see detail and thumbnails myself.

LOL Scott I think we posted at the same time.... So..... if there are no options at this time, what are the view settings in the menu for? Why does he have a Details view and I'm stuck on List view? That don't make sense either lol :P

At last, maybe I described it better............. It would be great if this was something that could be
implemented sometime in the future.

I know its a low priority request, but sometimes routine things like this can be a real nuisance...

Am interested to know why Jo Ann has list view displayed and I don't though, that's why I wondered
if there maybe a file somewhere that I could edit manually..........

Thankyou
Peter

Ok

I assume you are talking about the 'My Computer' tab on the left hand side, I can right click inside and am given 5 different views to choose from, and they all work, that is using Windows 7.

Icons
Lists
Details
Small Icons
Thumbnails

Here is the Thumbnail view.

Thankyou

Oh that's real funny you guys! lol, I never even realized it was the "My Computer" tab you were talking about and was thinking this should work in the My Websites tab lol. I see it now and yes it does seem to work for me like it should now also.

I see what you're saying now on the default there also, it's Detail View for me too. Would be nice to set your default there for a preference. Guess I'll play with it a bit, never realized that tab was there or maybe I did and just never used it lol. I've always kept it in the My Websites tab when working on things, but this tab might be more useful. Thanks for the heads up there :)
