I noticed that any file I have named .js does not have color coded editing.
How can I fix that?

I took a reg html file and saved it as a .js and it retained its color.:)

Go to preferences then customization tab. You can tweak how all doc types show in the editor.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

No difference. I'm using build 369 of the regular editor. Created an html file.. even saved it as .html pasted my javascript code into it. Saved it again. Color coding (highlighting) still ok.. but then, soon as I renamed it to .js the highlighting goes away. some keywords are blue, but mostly everything is black, including comments which are usually gray are black...

Did you scroll down in the little element box looking at the java script option listed and how you can set the properties for each of those? You may have to mess with "use defaults for foreground and or Background" to get these to be changeable.

Noticed the same thing. I went into tools > preferences > files tab and changed the *.js type files from Text Files to Server Files but no joy. any .js file I open shows "DOCTYPE unknown" in the box at the very bottom of the HTML editor window. I think it is this unknown doctype that is the culprit.

Any color syntax help for .js files would be useful.
