Can anyone tell me if it is possible to make changes to responsive themes? If lets say you don't like a colour used can you replace it?

Would it be possible to use an image as the background and have it stretch out to cover the whole of the background no matter how big the browser window gets?

Yes. You can edit any responsive theme just like any other theme. Just don't ask me how, I don't code. But I understand it's all in there...HTML, CSS, JS, whatever...You can make all the changes you like.
