Inserting image

Hi, this is Peggy, the other half. I am new to all coding but trying to learn fast.
In the HTML editor I am trying to insert an image from files on our computer. I have tried from the insert/image tab and also from "my computer" (double click). If I have the cursor on a webpage it will put the image there but nothing else. It will not ask me if I want to copy the image to my project or folders.
I would really like to place the images in an image folder and then insert them to the pages as needed.
Any help is appreciated. We have version 12 Build 375.

Do you want regular html.:( or do it with CSS?:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Just to be clear

Are you using the "Visual Tab" of the Editor? If so, you need to be warned that switching between Visual Tab and Code Tab is NOT ADVISED...

Eric,
I am using regular html, actually in the end, html5 and css3, but I am not sure how that would make any difference.
The help files we have are dated 2010. Method 1 (insert image window) I get to click OK where it should ask if you want to copy your image file to you website project, but it will only put the image in the page that is open where the cursor is and Method 2 (open my computer tab) when I double click the image again it only puts the image on the page I have open and does not ask if I want to copy the image file to your website project.
Here is the link to the help file. See step 4.

Phil,
We know not to switch between the Visual Tab and the Code Tab, thanks. (In the tutorials it has been drowned into us to not do that.)

Eric,
Steven here. I believe this is going to become a support issue. I went through all of the methods of inserting an image and they all end with a dialog asking if you want the image copied to the website project.
This only happened once when Peggy brought in a .png image that we use for a logo. However, this does not happen when she tries to insert a 21kb JPG file.

If you concur that this could be a support issue, let us know.

Thank You,
Steven

There was some discussion about the HTML editor not uploading dependencies and this might be tied to that same issue. You could go ahead and open a support ticket but I do know that there aware of the dependencies issue. I know there's a check box in the Tools-Preferences-Folders Tab menu that can be set to prompt you if your images aren't in your working folder. You might want to check that out.:)

The check box is checked off. I think I will go ahead and submit a ticket to be sure that they are aware of this particular issue.

In the mean time I will resize Peg's pictures in Photoshop and put them into her image folder.

One strange thing I noticed and that is the default folder for images is: C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\Graphics yet the images should go to C:\Documents and Settings\Steven and Peggy\My Documents\CoffeeCup Software\HTML Editor\Projects. Oh well, I will let the experts figure it out.

Thanks for trying,
Steven

I never noticed the image dependency issue because I have always been manually putting them in the right folder and always right click and click on upload selected files.:) I had the project settings set to not check dependencies because I was always adding the images to the folder before I even typed the code. But now with a user two days ago asking about the images being upload and checking the settings, I expected to at least be prompted that the images were missing but the program didn't do that even though my settings in my project should have allowed it.:/ Post back when you get a response from the CC guru's as there are many eyes here.

Your default folders are set under "Tools"-"Preferences"-"Folders":)

Will do, I am heading over to support now.
One thing. PNG files will show the dialog box (because it is a graphics file I think) while JPG's don't.
