Okay, before I do this, I want to confirm the steps with someone who knows more about this than I do.

Using Filezila I opened my website, found the "public.html folder and opened it, found the "index.html" in there and I need to delete it, then using CoffeeCup HTML Editor, save my updated version to the Working folder and then upload it to the server ?

Just want to confirm that before I delete something I can't get back.

Just a suggestions, I am sure they are other ways but this is what I like to do persnally with the idea better safe then sorry.

If you want to be sure you do not lose anything then you could first rename the old index file as 'oldindex.html' and then upload the new index as index.html (no need to worry there will not be name conflicts). This way if you need to put back the old index file you just have to rename again. Of course once you are happy with the new index file and all is working well you can if you wish delete the oldindex.html.

Okay, I got the site to show the correct update by doing this - I took the edited webpage and saved it as index.html and saved it into a folder on my desktop, then opened Filezila and found the "public.html folder, then dragged & dropped the html file from my desktop into both the "public.html" and the "public_html" folders in Filezila.

This did work, but I really would rather use CoffeeCup HTML Editor to upload stuff to my server out of loyalty to a great program and because it's a heck of a lot easier.

oh, and I did take ad99wd's advice with the renaming. Thank you for everyone else who gave advice, I did try it all and appreciate it greatly. This is a great community for a newbie like me ! :)

I found out what I did wrong ... such a newbie. When I set up my server on this computer, I had it going to the "public.html" folder. I set it up for the "public_html" folder and it all works great now.

Crises adverted, lol.
