HTML Editor vs VSD?

I guess I don't fully understand the powers that each of these programs has, my knowledge is so basic at this point. But it looks like VSD won't let me do tables, or easily add things like header tags; H1 etc.

I'm looking at the product page for the HTML editor though and it appears to have a WYSIWYG preview part too, where it's similar to VSD built into it?

Can I then use that instead of VSD and do a whole lot more with it, like adding tables to my pages for link menus etc?

In some ways I seem to understand a bit more than VSD will help me do, but don't understand as much as something like the Stylesheet Designer program will help me do.

Can I replace VSD with HTML Editor and do the same, but with even more capabilities and power?

And if I want to do stylesheet design for my own site, how does that fit in? Will it all work together or is that something I have to learn and use separately?

Oh, and if HTML Editor would replace VSD but help me do so much more, is there any way I can unregister VSD, delete it from my computer and just switch to HTML Editor instead?
....

Wow, I just went and looked at the full feature sheet for HTML Editor and it kinda makes VSD look like a toy doesn't it. But it appears to be more suited for intermediate people like me, when VSD may be more for just someone with absolutely no knowledge at all, who just wants to design very simple pages?

And this may sound like a crazy question, but has CoffeeCup ever put together a sales package for someone who just gets so loony about your software that they want it ALL? Like so much money gets you registered for all their presently existing software that you can download?

Wow, I'd go crazy, but it would be SO MUCH fun learning it all! :)

VSD is a very powerful Web designer but it differers from an HTML Editor. With VSD you do not have any access to the HTML code. There are however many powerful tools in the program and if you are creative you can also use it as a graphics design tool.

HTML Editor 2007/2008 is an HTML Editor. It also contains a visual editor however its similarities to VSD are very small. If you want to do tables, css, frames etc, then you will need this program. Pages created in this program cannot be opened in VSD. VSD can only work with pages created by itself.

Thanks Scott. So would it be of value to keep both programs?

Can sites I've already created with VSD be opened, edited and improved with HTML Editor though?

You can open sites created with VSD inside other programs but any changes you make will not be shown in VSD.

HTML Editor can access files created by VSD -
When you create a site with VSD, it makes a folder called something.vnu_website ('something' being the name you gave your project). Inside that folder you will find all the pages as html files, and they can of course be opened in the HTML Editor.

This was from a reply from Inger to my question about this.
