I'm considering buying the HTML Editor so I can re-write and re-design my current website, but before I do, has anyone experienced the need to purchase other software programs (Coffeecup or otherwise) as add-on modules?

Their html form builder is an awesome addition.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Ive bought a few of their programms for future use.

However, the main ones I would recomend are HTML Editor, Sitemapper, Form Builder and a couple of the themes.

I would also say the shopping cart creater is excellent after having a play about with it., if you are going to make a shop.

... and Web image Studio is also a handy little tool.

An early client was good enough to pay for CoffeeCup's soup-to-nuts, whole ball of wax. I've found that the tools I originally considered not terribly useful turned out to be good friends. (I'm talking about you, Web Color Schemer.) So it's difficult to guess what you'll find useful.

I've found CC's attitude with regard to support second to none. They and this Forum patiently entertain all manner of inane questions. I should say that the questions seem inane once you are well past them. They seem gravely serious and head-bursting while you are wrestling with them. That is CC's true benefit to you. The products themselves amount to the embodiment of this support in something you can run on your own computer. So think about the aspects of creating and maintaining your Web site that most perplex you, and buy into the related tools.

BTW, I visited your site. Love those photos of dogs in flight.

Most sites will need certain items, so if you're thinking to go with the HTML Editor then some good companions for that would be:

Website Color Schemer (my right hand man too Halfnium lol)
Web Form Builder
Site Mapper
Website Access Manager (only if you have items or locations you want to share with specific people only)

and of course as mentioned above, for ecommerce if you are planning to get into that at all:
Shopping Cart Designer Pro
Shopping Cart Creator Pro (get both of these if you're going to do it at all, and get the Pro, the extra features are more than worth the extra cost)

That's the ones I've found the most useful. I used to use a few others, but the Flash part has gone by the wayside for us so I won't list those, but if you plan to use CoffeeCup's S-Drive then the

Photo Gallery

would also be a great addition since it will do HTML photo galleries on S-Drive rather than Flash.

Hope that helps :)

Jo Ann,

Agreed regarding CC's Flash-based products at the present time. But they were useful for a good long stretch of the Web's development. They also allowed me to avoid learning Flash, which turned out to be a big win. So I have no gripes about having bought them.

Hiya Halfnium,

I totally agree, they definitely paid for themselves over the years in the use I've gotten out of them. I just am not at this time listing them for suggestions as many of the phone systems that do now allow you to use flash are apparently going to discontinue it which is going to suck for a lot of things. So I don't think leading people to the software here that does flash is a "nice" thing to do I guess hehe. Hate to see people spend money on things that may be obsolete next week, month, year, etc.

Other than that I definitely got a lot of use out of what I purchased as I bought the Big Cup way back when myself too :)

The desktop Linux world also got cut off from Flash Player for a while ... then got it back. IMHO, Flash is no longer a star to which to pin one's hope.

Thank you everyone for your input and feedback!

I have bought the HTML Editor (and plenty of headache tablets - reckon I'm going to need them!) My understanding of HTML is fairly good but I'm very green with CSS and web page design. Especially page layout, so a very steep climb ahead.

I also have the form builder and SCC/Designer but will ponder the site mapper and image studio for now.

Thanks again and no doubt I'll be back soon scrolling through for tips! :)
