Hello,

I can't create a new project.

I need to create a new project from existing files, but after I am finished editing a document and click Save, I get the following error:

http://www.shanegoodman.com/coffeecup1.jpg

When I click OK, I get this:

http://www.shanegoodman.com/coffeecup2.jpg

So when I click OK here, I get this:

http://www.shanegoodman.com/coffeecup3.jpg

Which gives me this:

http://www.shanegoodman.com/coffeecup4.jpg

Which gives me this:

http://www.shanegoodman.com/coffeecup5.jpg

The dialog boxes never stop, and I can't shut down the application.

Is there any reason that I can't create a new project?

I'm running Windows XP Home SP3.

I have forwarded your post to the developers. I hope they can help. In the meantime, have you tried uninstalling the HTML Editor, rebooting your machine before reinstalling?

Thanks for forwarding my problem.

I've uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled twice. I've also done a repair.

Shane,

Have you tried downloading again?

That may have nothing to do with it, but if a download gets corrupted, you may be missing something or have something that installed wrong.

I think I have an XP Pro sp3 machine at home, and will see if I can run the HTML editor when I get home.

Shane,

I used my computer with XP Pro Service Pack 3, and installed the latest HTML Editor (build 239).

When the HTML Editor started, clicked on project tab, clicked on New Project, selected create from existing files.

I enter a name for the project, selected the location (folder) of the files for the project, and clicked OK.

I created a new blank page, added some code, and saved the file. The new file is in the project I created, and I had no errors.

Can you reproduce the errors? If so, give me a step by step set of directions on how to create the error, and I will try again.

I've uninstalled HTML Editor, rebooted, downloaded and installed a new HTML Editor from the web site - but I'm still getting an "Invalid pointer operation" error when I try to save a file.

Thanks,
Shane.

There's nothing I can do to avoid the error. Whenever I try to save a document, any document, I get an error message saying "Invalid pointer operation". Clicking OK doesn't make the error go away, it just brings up a more cryptic error message. You can click OK forever. The error messages never stop.

The only way to get rid of them is to go into Task Manager and terminate the application.

Shane,

Have you opened a support ticket with CoffeeCup?

This sounds like something that will require their support to resolve.

Go to http://www.coffeecup.com/help/ and login.

The fourth item down is to email them a question. That will be the start of getting their support.

After you initiate the support, they will email you. Sometimes that email gets caught in a spam filter, but if you log back into the help area, right below th email us a question is "My Question History" where you will find a copy emails they have sent as a support question.

I've sent them an email. I'm hoping to get this fixed because I'm starting to panic.

I opened a support ticket about this same glitch and the reply was to make sure I didn't have a virus. After that, I was instructed to run anti-spyware and given links to the usual programs. I did this only to be able to say that I'd followed the instructions and it didn't solve the problem. I did (no spyware or virus) and it hasn't solved the problem. I didn't bother contacting support again because I figured someone else would have this problem, too.

The error messages do stop, but only after dozens of clicks.
