How to switch to insert mode?
I am using the html editor. I have not been able to set the editor to edit text in an insert mode. It is stuck in overwrite mode. How to switch to insert mode?
I always use insert mode but on reading your post I decided to try it myself.
On my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7, I pressed the <Insert> key and got the block cursor and it went into overwrite mode OK.
I tried changing back by pressing <Insert> and got the insert cursor again, but it ignored key presses and I couldn't edit anything
I couldn't even click on the 'red X' to exit the program - the normal cursor arrow stayed on when I hovered over the X, I had to <Ctrl-Alt-Del> to exit.
Yet when I fired up HTML Editor again it ran flawlessly.
It also ran flawlessly on my desktop running XP Home Edition.
I'm using the latest build on both computers.
Wonder if it's a Windows 7 issue?

On my Windows 7 system the Insert key toggles nicely between insert and overwrite in the HTML Editor without any problems.
Joseph: The Insert/Overwrite toggle is generally controlled from the keyboard, not from/by the software. Maybe your key is stuck?
