Several of my client's sites need changes to meta tags. Yes, I can use my ftp tool's text editor to change meta tags on each page--but I have to find the tags and code the html. I'm looking to save all possible time here!
What I'd love to find is an editor that will break out the meta tags on a page that's on the server, let me edit them, and then replace (or insert) them right onto the server page.
I have a number of clients who have static html sites that need meta tag work. This tool would save me considerable time because it would get all the syntax right!
Thanks
dave
How to change meta tags on a site
Coffeecups DirectFTP (not the free version but the paid) will open HTML files and allow you to edit them on the server. Give it a try ... http://www.coffeecup.com/direct-ftp/
Just remember that any changes you make 'outside' the HTMLEditor will be overwritten if you update the page with the editor then publish again. Changes should be made using the editor, but DirectFTP is still really cool for editing on-line!
