Novice html coder. (weekend warrior) -
how do i go about optimizing how a page will look to users using different screen resolutions???
using upper and lower frame on a home page i'm creating.
at 800 x 600 my image header looks to big and to far right. the text in the lower frame overlaps other text (i used different text boxes for each line of text).
at 1280 x 1020 the image header size is ok, but it's slightly to the left. and the text start to far below the bottom on the header image. but left to right it looks good and it doesn't not overlap.
what the best way to have the page appearance optimized for different resolutions?????
thanks
How do I optimized pages for...
Heya Fred, the best way is that.. there's no best way. Actually, Eric English nailed your concerns spot on. But do note that designs which try to conform to certain variables, in the hope that it won't appear misplaced or wrong in certain resolutions, well it'll go wrong -- according to Murphy's Law that is.
Here's my advice, stick to a resolution which the majority of your targeted audience are most likely to be at, and design your website for that. If you're uncomfortable, then design it at the lowest resolution that your users will be at. Target audience, that's the key.
Sorry I didn't provide any CSS code help, cos my brain's a little fried right now.

My tee shirt site http://www.teedojo.com, warmly and fuzzily done with SCC + SCD. I kinda like it even if I've yet to sell any shirts! Hah!
