Compatibility with Windows 8

The Internal Browser used in the Preview mode is not displaying the web-page the same way as it comes up in IE, Firefox, or Chrome, or on my Windows 7 computer. I've tried running in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3, and Windows 7), without having any impact on the display. It is as though the spacing/font dimensions are different, so boxes are overlapping with text when they shouldn't.
FYI, the HTML page displays correctly in KompoZer, so I don't think it is an issue with the installed fonts on the computer.

I've attached a Word document with screen shots of the displays (Editor:incorrect as well as other viewers:correct, as well as the underlying CSS and HTML.

In the editor select "Tools" then "Preferences" . Now click on the "Browser Testing" tab. Now select your "Internal Preview Uses". This will help you with getting things inline.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I had tried all three options (IE7, IE8, IE9) without success before posting this issue- same result with all three settings. Using Tools > Test with Default Browser (Firefox), or Additional Browsers (IE10) all look fine - it is only in the internal Split-Screen Preview or the External Preview where it fails. As I stated, I've also tried various Compatibility modes too without success.

Is your browser zoomed up or have you messed with your dpi settings?

AFAIK, I haven't messed around with the dpi settings on the laptop (resolution is set to recommended=maximum resolution 1920 * 1080).
Browser zoom level is not a factor (already played with that to test the robustness of the html).
The problem only occurs with the internal preview in the HTML Editor - not in any browser.
Do you think there would be any reason to re-install the Editor?
I am running Windows 8 with Start8 to get rid of the "Modern" desktop.
Thanks,

Inger... http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/

Could there be some sort of conflict between Start8 and the Editor (since they both involve how something is being displayed)?

Au contraire, Grandma (and congratulations). Start8 is $4.99 True Launch Bar is $19.90 (unless you want to bite on one of their "trials"). Anyway, if you are using True Launch Bar, are you seeing weird behavior with The Editor?

Nope no weird behavior happening here.

And you can buy that without having a license to Stardock? Used to be you couldn't buy anything or use anything with their software unless you were using the Stardock setup. That's why I said it's cheaper :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
