Are Older Versions of HTML Editor...
Hello,
I've been using Coffee Cup for several years, using a 2008 version, and I love it! However, after a reboot, I upgraded to the new 2010 HTML Editor, and it's doing something funky that the old version didn't do, and it's quite frustrating.
99% of the time, I use the visual editor, only popping back into code to tweak things like making an image link open in a new window, and I've never had a problem. However, if you look at these two example pages, you'll see what I'm talking about. Both were visually created/edited in 2008 version, however, one has been opened in 2010 version, you'll notice this goofy link line at the top left of the page on the example from the 2010 version.
examples:
edited in old version: http://www.smallboxgames.com/index.html
edited in new version: http://www.smallboxgames.com/about.html
If there's a way to fix this, great! If not, is there an archive of older versions of Coffee Cup that can be downloaded?
Please note: I have zero desire to use the code editor for the majority of the time. If the old version did what I needed it to do with no problem, I would hope the new version could do the same without making extra work for me.
Thanks in advance!

Its generally suggested not to swap between the visual and code editors as it can muck up your code as you discovered.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
I guess what's frustrating is that I never had this problem with the older version, but now, the newer version is giving me fits. If I ever did run into a problem, running code cleaner fixed it. Running code cleaner now totally screws up the page.
I suppose one of the reasons for this change is that the powers (w3c etc) that be are insisting on cleaner standards' compliant code, and switching between the two does not allow for that in both modes as one tends to mess up the other. Just a thought.
The blue line is a link. It is seen in IE but not Mozilla-based browsers. Your footer is jacked in these browsers, though. You should validate the code. There are many errors. Correcting the errors should resolve these issues for you.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
So, are there older versions of the software still available?
And to clarify, if I even open a page I had created on a previous version of the HTML editor in the 2010 version, the link line magically appears, regardless of which code editor tab I open it under. The new version is doing something the older version does not.
It's just sort of frustrating.
Being able to use the older version I had seems like easiest solution for me. Hopefully there's an update archive somewhere where customers can access older versions of this software.

If you contact support, they should be able to provide you a link to an earlier version. Regardless of which version you use, correcting the code errors will resolve the issue for you.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
There are older versions, and you need to contact CC Support and tell them which one you want.
But first try to do what has been suggested here. Cleaning up the code always seem to sort out a lot of problems.
Edited later:
And besides, the validators such as W3C validates your pages according to the current standards. The newest HTML Editor creates code following the same standards. Earlier versions of the Editor do not. And the validation is for the users of the pages you put onto the internet. A page with valid code will open the same way in all current browsers which also follow the W3C standards. A page with valid code will also be ranked higher by search engines.
